"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." John 16:33 ESV

"do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV

"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." Romans 5:3-5 ESV

"For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace." Romans 8:6 ESV

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 ESV

This stopped me in my tracks!

Every minute someone leaves this world behind.
We are all in “the line” without knowing it.
We never know how many people are before us.
We cannot move to the back of the line.
We cannot step out of the line.
We cannot avoid the line.

So while we wait in line -

Make priorities.
Make the time.
Make up.
Make peace.
Make love.
Make the change.
Make moments count.
Make someone smile.
Make everybody feel like a somebody.
Make sure to tell people they are loved.
Make sure to give more than you take.
Make sure to learn from your mistakes.
Make sure to have no regrets.
Make sure you are ready.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." John 13:34 ESV

"Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." 1 John 3:18 ESV

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 ESV

Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” Matthew 24:35 ESV

Agur said, “Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” Proverbs 30:5 ESV

Paul said, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,” 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV

There is no ambiguity in these scriptures. The Bible doesn’t say that “some” of God’s words are true. Not once do we read that “some” of God’s words are pure and profitable for reproof, correction, and instruction. Yet, time and time again, Christians interpret the Bible in precisely this manner. We fool ourselves if we believe we can follow the scriptures we agree with while ignoring the rest.

For our sins of which we are aware, we must confess and ask for God’s forgiveness. For our sins of which we are unaware, and as Job did, “How many are my iniquities and my sins? Make me know my transgression and my sin.” (Job 13:23 ESV); we must humbly ask God to reveal them to us. We must seek and adopt His wisdom. We must confess our sins and receive His forgiveness. From that moment on, we must do everything in our power, both in our flesh and through the power of the Holy Spirit, to ensure that our thoughts, words, and actions are obedient, pleasing, and glorifying to our Heavenly Father.

Jesus warned: “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33 ESV). If we believe there will be time tomorrow or the day after to change our ways, we are fooling ourselves. Tomorrow may not come.
