As we prepare for our 2026 Awards Weekend, we invite you to help us honor and celebrate the incredible survivors whose strength, resilience, and perseverance continue to inspire others every day.

Do you know a whose journey deserves to be recognized?

We are reopening nominations and encouraging you to submit the names of individuals who have overcome life’s challenges and emerged as beacons of hope and courage.

If someone comes to mind, we encourage you to submit a nomination and share why their story should be celebrated. Let’s come together to recognize the remarkable survivors in our community and give them the flowers they deserve.

🎓✨ Student Appreciation Sunday – June 14 at 11:00 AM! ✨🎓

St. Matthew M.B. Church is excited to celebrate and recognize the achievements of our students—and we’d love to include students from our community as well!

Whether your child has excelled academically, athletically, artistically, or through leadership and service, we want to help celebrate their accomplishments.

📩 To have your student recognized, please send us a direct message on our church page with:

✅ Student’s full name (correct spelling)
✅ Age and grade level
✅ Accomplishments, awards, honors, or special achievements
✅ A recent digital photo (if available)

📸 If possible, please send an original digital photo rather than a picture of a printed photo. If you don’t have a photo available, no problem—we’ll still be honored to recognize your student.

We’re excited to welcome children and families from our church and the community for three fun-filled evenings of learning, activities, fellowship, and faith!

When they heard that Jesus was coming that way, they began shouting, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” [31] “Be quiet!” the crowd yelled at them. But they only shouted louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” [32] When Jesus heard them, he stopped and called, “What do you want me to do for you?” [33] “Lord,” they said, “we want to see!” [34] Jesus felt sorry for them and touched their eyes. Instantly they could see! Then they followed him.

Shout louder. Don't let other people's opinions of you stop you from getting what you need. They don't know your dreams. They don't know your goals. They don't know your story. So let your yell be louder than their's. Grasp your chance with all you have. And don't let people that can't help you anyway stop you.

[28] For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Even Christ served. Service MUST be part of your practice. You have to actually do work. If your goal is to follow Christ's example, then you have to be humble enough to serve others. And not just once a year around November-December. Service to your neighbors, community, and the less fortunate/disenfranchised must be a regular part of your lifestyle. Because it was a part of Jesus's. And if Jesus served, why do you think you are exempt from it?
