James 1:1-4 this Sunday Morning.

In our life as Christians we will have trials.

The Greek word for trials is defined as: To try and learn the nature or character of someone or something by submitting such to thorough and extensive testing.

To have joy in midst of trials is a foreign concept to the unbelieving heart. For the redeemed it is a part of who we are as Christians. Our salvation in the Lord never waivers because he never changes yet the life we live for the King puts us in the middle of change.

Join us 9/14/25 at 10:00am as we unpack these verses together.

Sermon #15 Is God Enough?
As a Christian our answer would always be of course he is enough. But do our lives reflect that on a daily basis. Walking with the Israelites in 1 Samuel 8 we find them desiring a king over the perfect King of King and Lord of Lords. We all must answer the question Is God Enough?

A. Rapport for the time B. Reading of the text C. Review of the text D. Relevance of the text I. Logic 1 When Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel. 2 The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. Samuel is some 60 years o...

Sermon #14 1 Samuel 7:2-17
What an amazing picture of true repentance the book of Samuel shares with us. How grateful we are to serve a God that provides a way for us to come humbly before His thrown in true repentance.

A. Rapport for the time Deflection—and desire to see ourselves as the hero of our own story... This means that Israel’s problem was not fundamentally their corrupt and inept leaders (God dealt with them decisively), nor was it the Philistine threat (they could not prevail against God’s heavy h...

Sermon #13 1 Samuel 6:13-7:1
Who is able to stand before the Lord, this HOLY God?
Israel would ask this question after the Ark returned to Israel by God's power. The answer to this question helps us understand the Holiness of God.

A. Rapport for the time Holiness—God’s holiness means that he is separated from sin and devoted to seeking his own honor. (Grudem) This definition contains both relational quality (separated from) and a moral quality(the separation is from sin or evil, and the devotion is to the good of God’s ...

Sermon #12 in 1 Samuel. A heart that says you can fix it yourself, that does not acknowledge that God is real in our life and still active in the day to day operation of our life is a heart that is hard. Do you realize this morning that part of your heart as christian living a life being sanctified may have been hardened to the things of God. It may be a person or something you have just decided you will do yourself. You are telling God that you are sufficient and you know that is a lie! You are not and never will be sufficient apart from the work of God in your life in the power of the Spirit of God.

A. Rapport for the time Why would our hearts fail to acknowledge God? What does the bible say? B. Reading of the text C. Review of the text D. Relevance of the text I. I can Fix it myself 1 The ark of the Lord was in the country of the Philistines seven months. 2 And the Philistines called for the p...

Sermon #11 in 1 Samuel. "Not Like Other gods" We often believe and rely on our own independence and worship created things before looking to our creator God and King. Honestly, we just fail to see what God desires us to see. God desire that we both acknowledge and find joy in the fact that the God of all creation doesn’t need you. He doesn’t need you to come up with new ideas or ways in which you might help him as though he is lacking in power in anyway. Instead, we should embrace THE GOD that would desire to fellowship with us that we might put his power on display.

A. Rapport for the time As created beings you and I are extremely dependent upon others. This starts from birth when we need others to help take care of us in fact we count on that to help nurture us and grow. What happens in our life is that we grow from what state to another until we get to the po...

Sermon #10 in 1 Samuel. "The Lord's words are true" We serve the God of the heavens that can be trusted. Our hearts jump for joy at that as we read about his love for us and how much he has done for us by sending his son to die for us. That goodness also will not allow sin to go in the lives of his people. On this day in 1 Samuel the words of God are true and it will lead to his judgment upon the people that he might bring them to a place of restoration before HIM because he alone is Sovereign.

A. Rapport for the time What has a high value in your life? Think for a moment of what really is important to you. Now, quickly compare that to the list of activities that you participate in on a regular basis. There may be times in my life when those two events do not line up. B. Reading of the tex...

Sermon #9. Have you ever taken your Salvation for granted? God has granted us grace by the death of his own son and we should never take that for granted. God is Sovereign over HIS creation.

A. Rapport for the time Do you take for granted your salvation? I would dare say that all Christians have done such a thing. Oh, we know all the church speak God is good to Us God has shown us Mercy God knows us God loves us Christ’s blood and body broken for us has given us life We KNOW all about...

Sermon #8. The Goodness of God and his word in our life should be at the center of our Christian walk with the Lord. God is always doing and Thing and it comes out of his Goodness.

A. Rapport for the time B. Reading of the text C. Review of the text If you remember back with me some 8 weeks ago when we started the book of 1 Samuel we talked about how Israel is not following the Lord’s ways and were leading themselves by “doing what was right in their own eyes.” 1 Samuel ...
