A busy St. Francis Sunday - Today was a day of goodbyes, drive carefullys, and birthday celebrations. Fr. Recla prayed our traveling prayer over our Sr. Acolyte Bella. She’s very excited to be on staff at Camp Wingman for the summer camp season (and we’re excited for her - everyone remembers their first job, right?). Because Bella is such a multifaceted responsible young lady - acolyte, cheerleader, camp staff… she’ll be driving back from CW for cheerleading practice- and that’s a lot of road time. So we were all happy to cover her with our prayers for safe travels. She’s a special young lady and precious to us (all our St Francis kids are precious). Ava and Robbie will head to camp later this summer so they can give us the report on how Bella is doing (we know she’s gonna do great!). Next up we celebrated the 90th birthday of our very own Franciscan - Sister Jacoba Clare (aka June). Her artwork graces many of the walls of St Francis (and some of our homes). Her talent is a gift from God, and she’s a blessing to us. Last but certainly not least we said “see you again soon” to our beloved music director and soloist Duane Buck. Duane is moving out of the area but he has promised he will be back in October to sing on our namesake feast day (St Francis Sunday October 4). We’ll miss his beautiful voice but just as much we will miss his presence, smile, and laughter. And of course it wouldn’t be a St Francis party without a “face” cake!!Godspeed Duane. Drive Safely Bella. Happy Birthday Sister Jacoba! We love you all!!
