Today is the Sixth Sunday of Easter. In the early Church, the disciples’ experience of the Resurrection led them to proclaim the Word. The Word that was proclaimed and shared became a source of joy for everyone. As we profess our faith in the Resurrection, we too are called to carry out the mission of proclaiming the Good News. Let us resolve to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ first with those who are in sorrow and those who feel discouraged.

One year ago today, the College of Cardinals elected Cardinal Robert Prevost as the 267th Successor of Peter. Taking the name Leo XIV, he became the first U.S.-born pope in the history of the Church. We give thanks for his ministry and continue to pray for our Holy Father.
