Sikhism
The fifth Guru built the Golden Temple of Amritsar to emphasize that the Sikh way was open to all, regardless of caste; the temple was constructed with doors facing all four directions. The first Sikh martyr, Arjan is also remembered for his contributions to and compilation of the Sikh Scriptures.

Wesak, or Vesak, is known to be the most sacred Buddhist festival, commemorating the birth, enlightenment (Nirvana), and Mahasamadhi (Parinirvana) of Gautama Buddha; celebrated on the full moon in May.

This past Friday, May 1, Konchog Pema, ordained Tibetan Buddhist monk, led the evening's program with prayers, chanting, and pourings offered to the Buddha in celebration at Sivananda Satsang Hall.

The eagle is considered a sacred bird in Pueblo culture, and the dance often symbolizes the relationship between the community and the sky world.
