We provide exciting programs to meet the needs of every member of the family. First Baptist is a place where friends are easily made. We want our community to know the hope of the Christian faith. We are located in the downtown area of our city, in the heart of Lincoln County. Like our community, every generation is well represented at First Baptist Church. God is the center of our worship. Our Sunday morning worship service brings all the generations together and uses the best of traditional and contemporary songs and modern media to create a meaningful and joyous experience. Our Sunday Legacy worship service is held at 5:00 pm in our Fellowship Hall (which was the place of our 1914 Sanctuary). It uses the familiar hymns that call us again to praise and service of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For boys and girls in 1st–6th grade. Evaluations are Nov. 2, 3 & 5, 6:00–7:30 PM in the Family Life Center/Gym, and games begin Jan. 9, 2027.

Week 17 - Verses on God's promises begin this week.

33. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

The context is about worry. Worrying about material provisions and how Christ followers differ from unbelievers. Jesus taught us to not worry. We need basic provisions. God acknowledges this. The Heavenly Father knows that we need all these things. To whom do we rely on to provide what we need? The answer is one of trust.

Seek first the One you trust in for all these things and also how to live righteously for His purpose with them.

Next is a great promise.
34. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Christians, have a ‘family’ secret – And WE know. That all things, everything – the good and bad – is worked out for good. The Lord is good. God is at work and is working out all things according to His good will.

But not everyone experiences this. Who does? Those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Those living in God’s will.

Our bonus verse is a promise of forgiveness.
Luke 6:37 Judge not and you shall not be judged. Condemn not and you shall not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.
We are called to make judgements about right and wrong but not about another’s worth or value. God alone is able to judge or condemn the soul.

None of us would you like to be condemned by another? Our role is to forgive others when they mistreat us. Then you will be forgiven of you offend.

Marcus Aurelius quote by Don Walley. I miss Don already but I am happy to know that in Heaven all the wrestling with the challenges in this sin-sick world is over. I believe there is dancing in heaven. Dancing the dance of praise at the feet of Jesus Christ our Lord. Until then, my friend.
