“Are you sure?” We’ve all said or heard those words. Confidence is a great thing, but the reality is no matter how confident we are, things can happen that change the expected outcome. Proverbs 3:26 tells us, “For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.” We are reminded to trust God rather than human strength. This song recognizes that true strength comes from God. Our confidence is not about self-reliance, but about surrendering control to Him.

I know someone who knows what I’m up against,
I know someone who’s here in the midst of it,
fighting for me in a battle I could never win all on my own.
I might not be able to part the waters, might not be able to calm the storms,
might not be able to make my giants fall, but good thing I’m not alone
‘cause there is a power that is greater, so I’m not afraid of what’s ahead.
I’m standing in the confidence that even though I can’t, my God can.

Giants Must Fall Sermon Series: The Giant of Anxiety
(Reverend Ross Henzi)

Look back. How many times has God carried you before? How many prayers has he answered? How many difficult times has he brought you through? The God who was faithful then is faithful now.

Ultimately, the answer to anxiety is not found within us. David defeated Goliath because the Lord fought for him. And we overcome anxiety because Jesus has already overcome our greatest enemies. We worry about the future. Jesus holds the future. We worry about death. Jesus conquered death. We worry whether God loves us. The cross answers that forever.

We (a group of Trinity sisters in Christ) invite you to join us in the comments as we continue in our spiritual journey. Each week we will share one of our scripture studies in the hope that you might also find peace and knowledge from our personal studies throughout the chapters of the Bible. Please comment any additional observations or applications that you personally would like to share.

It's one thing to simply read scripture, but when you interact with it, when you learn to slow down and REALLY read it, suddenly words start popping off the page. By SOAPing your verses you are able to dive deeper into God's Word and "see" more than when you just quickly read the verses.

THIS WEEK'S STUDY:
🎚Ephesians 2:13 - “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.’”

🎚Observation
Sin separates us from our God - but he died for those sins and we are now close to him! Not because of who we are or what we have done. God sent Jesus and now all who believe will be saved.

🎚Application
We all love to be near to those we love. When we are afraid, they give us comfort. Because of Jesus death on the cross, we are near to him and can always feel that comfort. He is with us EVERYWHERE! No matter what you are struggling with, you are not alone. God is with you.

🎚Prayer
Thank you Jesus for saving me and being there for me. I rejoice that you came into this world to set me free. My heart is full of thanksgiving and praise. I can stand in strength and courage because you are with me. All glory to you! Amen.

TAKING TIME TO CONNECT WITH GOD
(Emily Krill, timeofgrace.org)

Today I met up with a friend to connect over lunch. While there, on one of the trips from our table to the coffee refill station, I noticed an elderly woman sitting by herself, hunched over a small pile of papers. As I got closer, I realized that the small pile of papers was actually an incredibly worn copy of a daily devotion book. Curious, I leaned over and asked, “Excuse me, are you reading a devotion?”

She nodded in response.

I commented on how wonderfully “well-loved” the pages were. She told me that she reads it often.

I thanked her for her bold, beautiful example that reminded me—and maybe everyone else around her too—how good it is to make time to connect with God in our day. Then I told her that I would plan on getting a newer edition of that same devotion book and bring it for her the next time I come to that location.

And that’s exactly what I plan to do. But only God knows if I will ever see that woman again.

It got me thinking. Only God knows if I will ever see YOU again. I’m talking to you, the person reading this blog post right now. Tomorrow is not a guarantee, and another moment with you is not something I want to take for granted. So I want to take a moment to say the most important thing I could think to say (just in case I never get another moment with you).

It’s wonderful that you’re here right now. It’s so bold and beautiful of you to be setting aside time to connect with God.

🎚Keep being curious about God.
🎚Keep praising him for the good people, places, and things in your life.
🎚Keep asking God to reveal his definition of good to you as you wrestle with hard circumstances.
🎚Keep believing that Jesus sees you and loves you beyond your wildest imagination.

And if you’re reading this but the reality is that you’re barely hanging on by a thread, I want you to read this truth about God:

Hallelujah!

You who serve GOD, praise GOD!

Just to speak his name is praise!

Just to remember GOD is a blessing—

now and tomorrow and always.

From east to west, from dawn to dusk,

keep lifting all your praises to GOD!

GOD is higher than anything and anyone,

outshining everything you can see in the skies.

Who can compare with GOD, our God,

so majestically enthroned,

Surveying his magnificent

heavens and earth?

He picks up the poor from out of the dirt,

rescues the forgotten who’ve been thrown out with the trash,

Seats them among the honored guests,

a place of honor among the brightest and best.

He gives childless couples a family,

gives them joy as the parents of children.

Hallelujah! (Psalm 113 MSG)

And if you’re reading this and you’re having the very best day of your life, I want you to read that very same truth about God.

💛God is with you all the time (not just when it’s easy to feel it).
💛God is good all the time (not just when it’s easy to see it).
💛God loves you all the time (not just when you love him).
💛God saved you (even if you’re not quite sure you believe that yet).

I hope you come back here sometime to learn more about Jesus and connect with him.
