Holy Family Faith Formation and Youth Ministry

Holy Family Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Place to share information, stories and experiences of Holy Family Faith formation and Youth Ministry.

A place to learn for young people, parents and parishioners. We live differently... we live radically... we are not afraid. We are all walks of life, carrying our cross, and letting the soul of Christ be our guide. You will not be judged, picked on, laughed at - Our only job here is to learn what we need to get to heaven and then figure out how we can put it into practice on earth. "I have been cr

ucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me" - Galatians 2:19-20

Last night I taught 3rd Grade Faith Formation. They received their first Holy Communion last spring, so we discussed receiving communion and going to Mass. This is very important.

We then discussed night prayers and Children's bibles. None of them had a children's bible. I think it is very important for children to have a children's bible. Parents can read to their children, and as they get older, have the children read to the parents. It is good to set aside 15 minutes reading time every day.

If you are looking for gifts for St. Nicholas day in December, or Christmas, or First communion, or birthdays, I think a Children's bible would be a great gift. Although, it is important to give a good children's bible with good artwork and written well. Here is the Children's bible I would suggest. It is $12.99 on Amazon. Many adults had this Bible as a Child, but there was a different cover then.

Last night during Faith Formation, every class took time in Church for Eucharistic Adoration. We prayed for the people of Florida as the hurricane was happening. We should pray for those suffering from this.

Holy Family Parish, Brillion, will be hosting the “Man of the Shroud” exhibit for four days.

This exhibit features a replica of the Shroud of Turin, along with detailed information about its history and significance.

The exhibit includes a full-length canvas replica of the Shroud and a large crucified body model displaying the wounds of Christ as described in the Gospel accounts of the crucifixion. These wounds align with the markings on the Shroud. The replica will be displayed in the Church, providing a wonderful opportunity for prayer and meditation on Jesus’s suffering and sacrifice.

The feast of the Triumph of the Holy Cross is on the Saturday during the exhibit. This would be an excellent to see it and spend time in Church praying about Christ's victory on the Cross.

Sunday is the feast of our Lady of Sorrows. You may want to come that day, to remember Mary's sorrow at the death of her son.

At the recent Eucharistic Congress in Indiana, this was one of the most popular exhibits. Our parish is the only location in Wisconsin where it will be shown this year. See times below:

Have you signed up your kids for Totus Tuus yet? Every year they have so much fun. Contact Deb at the Parish office.

Today is Holy Thursday. This is when Jesus celebrated the the Last supper with this disciples. It was the first Mass and told his disciples to do "Do this in memory of me".

Today we celebrate: Jesus giving us the perfect worship: the Mass, Jesus giving us the Holy Priesthood, and Jesus command to Wash each other's feet(Love and serve each other).

We begin with Mass at 7:00. Our readings will be the institution of the Passover Sacrifice in the Old Testament Reading. Then we see St. Paul describing the Mass about 30 years after the resurrection. In the Gospel we see Jesus washing his disciple's feet.

After Mass we process as a community to the altar of Repose to pray. Jesus lead his disciples to the mount of Olives to pray, and he asked: Could you not stay with me for one hour? Tonight we will have the Church open until 10:00 for prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

You could stay and prayer after the Mass. If you could not come to Mass, still come to pray later. When was the last time you spent an hour in prayer? You may want to bring some prayer material with you, or leave it in the car and get it after Mass. Have your children bring their prayer books or children's bible.

Tonight is very special.
