What if you trusted God with the timing as much as you trust Him with the outcome?

David spent years knowing he had been anointed as king while continuing to serve, grow, and honor God right where he was. He allowed God to shape his character while the promise was still ahead of him.🙏🏼

1 Peter 5:6 invites us to place ourselves under God’s care and trust His timing. There is peace in knowing you can be faithful with what is in your hands today while trusting Him with tomorrow. Keep serving, keep growing, and let God decide when it is time for the next door to open.💛

Martha had Jesus sitting in her living room, and somehow the preparations became more important than the Person she was preparing everything for. The very One she wanted to honor was right there, inviting her into something deeper.

And church, that can happen to any of us. We can fill our schedules with good Christian activities and gradually lose the personal fellowship with Jesus that gives those activities meaning.

Jesus said in John 15:5, “He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit.” Everything we do for the Kingdom should flow out of our relationship with the King.

There is a place for serving, giving, and doing the work of ministry, but above everything else, cultivate a heart that genuinely loves being with Jesus. That's what Mary did, and he told her that she had chosen the good portion which would never be taken away from her. 🙏🏼

Imagine telling Jesus that His teaching is too demanding, that His expectations are unreasonable, and that He needs to make a few adjustments to keep people interested. It sounds ridiculous, but that is exactly how easily the consumer mentality of our culture can influence our relationship with God.

Somewhere along the way, we have become accustomed to evaluating everything according to our preferences, including our faith. Yet Jesus said in Luke 9:23 that anyone who desires to follow Him must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Him.

Church, the Gospel is an invitation to surrender our lives to the One who gave His life for us. And there is something freeing about allowing Jesus to have the final word over our priorities, our decisions, and our future.🙌🏼

Martha needed answers. Mary needed someone to weep with her. Thomas needed help with his doubt. Peter needed restoration. Zacchaeus needed an invitation. The Pharisees needed confrontation.

Jesus knew exactly how to meet the person standing in front of Him, and He still does.🙏🏼

Whatever you bring to Him today, you are coming to a Savior who knows you completely and knows exactly how to meet you where you are.💛

Are you tired? Come to church. Are you overwhelmed? Come to church. Are you anxious and carrying fear that feels like too much? Come to church.

Are you doing well? Come to church. Did you finally get the answer you have been praying for? Come to church. Is your family healthy, your heart full, and life going better than it has in a long time? Come to church.

There is a place for your burden, and there is a place for your blessing. Bring both with you this Sunday.🙌🏼

Some of the greatest opportunities to show the love of Jesus come when you are facing challenges of your own.

Think about Joseph: he was betrayed, sold into slavery, and eventually imprisoned for something he did not do. Yet Genesis 40 tells us that he noticed when two prisoners were troubled and took the time to ask what was wrong. Even in difficult circumstances, Joseph continued using what God had given him to serve others.

Your circumstances do not have to determine how faithfully you serve or how generously you love people. You can encourage someone while facing challenges of your own and continue making a difference right where you are.

Pay attention to the people God has placed around you. Someone may need the very encouragement, wisdom, or kindness you have to offer. 🙏🏼

We are quick to search for answers... A question comes up, something does not make sense, or we need direction, and within seconds we are reaching for our phones.

But how often is God’s Word the first place we look for truth? The gospel speaks into our relationships, decisions, fears, priorities, and the way we see the world around us.

📖"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is; his good, pleasing, and perfect will." - Romans 12:2

Before you search for another opinion, spend some time letting Scripture shape yours.🙏🏼

You can learn a lot about your relationship with God by paying attention to what happens when life gets uncomfortable. It is easy to worship when everything is going well, but your response to disappointment, pressure, and uncertainty reveals what you have been cultivating in your heart.

Daniel had developed a consistent prayer life before praying became dangerous. When the decree was signed that threatened anyone who prayed to God, Daniel continued doing what he had always done. His faithfulness in that moment came from years of knowing and trusting the Lord.

That is why your daily walk with God matters so much. Every time you open His Word, spend time in prayer, and choose obedience in the mundane moments of life, you are developing the kind of spiritual maturity that carries into the difficult moments. Give attention to your relationship with God today, and let Him develop a faith that influences every area of your life.💙

Some of the most important friendships, decisions, and questions about who you are happen during the middle and high school years, and Destiny Youth is creating a place where students can know Jesus for themselves, build friendships that strengthen their faith, and discover ways that they can make a difference right now!

Every Wednesday, students gather to worship, grow in God’s Word, connect, and find opportunities to lead and serve. Your student has a place here, and we would love to welcome them this Wednesday at 6:00 PM! 🙌🏼
