Young people are often told to prepare for the future so much that they can miss what God has entrusted to them right now.

When Paul wrote to Timothy, he did not treat his age like something he needed to overcome before becoming useful. He encouraged him to let his life become an example through the way he spoke, loved, believed, and lived. That is a powerful reminder for every young person who assumes experience is required before God can work through them.

Your school is already a place to practice courage. Your friendships are already opportunities to show compassion. Your gifts already have purpose, and your voice already carries influence.

Start paying attention to what God has placed in your hands today, and ask Him how He wants to use it right where you are.😌

The teenager asking an awkward question, the child who needs extra patience, or the young person who does not understand how church works yet is paying attention to whether this feels like a place where they can be known, heard, and valued... Someone’s first impression of Jesus may be shaped by the way His people treat them. That makes everyday interactions more significant than we realize.

This week, pay attention to the people God has placed around you. Ask a question, learn someone's name, listen without rushing, and become someone who creates pathways to Jesus for those around you. 🙌🏼

September is Su***de Prevention Month, and for some of you, that sentence carries a name, a face, or a part of your own story that few people know.

Maybe you have replayed the last conversation with someone you lost, wondered what you missed, or reached for your phone before remembering they will not answer. Maybe you know the other side of this story. You have gone to work, laughed with friends, answered texts, and quietly wondered whether you want to keep being here.

Jesus meets you in these places. He is not intimidated by your grief, questions, anger, or thoughts you are afraid to say out loud. Scripture shows us a God who draws near in anguish, listens to prayers that sound more like cries, and gives us people to help carry what has become too heavy to carry privately.

If this is part of your story, please tell someone. Reach out to a trusted friend, pastor, counselor, or someone who can stay with you and help you take the next step. If you are in suicidal crisis or emotional distress, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

The next generation is learning what matters by watching what the adults around them make time for.

Timothy’s faith was shaped long before he became a leader in the early church. Paul points back to the sincere faith he first saw in his mother and grandmother. Their influence reminds us that some of the most important spiritual work happens in the example we set when we think nobody is paying attention.

Every child and teenager around you is forming a picture of Jesus, faith, and what really matters. Make room for their questions, learn their names, listen to what matters to them, and show them through your life that they have a meaningful place in what God is doing right now.🙏🏼
