The disciples weren’t just afraid of the storm.

They were upset that Jesus wasn’t doing anything about it.

While the wind was raging and the waves were crashing into the boat, Jesus was asleep.

So they woke Him and said, “Master, don’t You care that we are perishing?”

But what they forgot was what Jesus had already said before they ever got in the boat:

“Let us go to the other side.”

That word should have settled the issue.

The storm didn’t change the destination.
The storm didn’t cancel the promise.

Jesus stood up and said, “Peace, be still.”

Then He turned to the disciples and asked, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

Instead of getting upset that Jesus wasn’t doing something about the storm, they should have been standing on what He said—that they are going to the other side—and responding to the storm in faith.

Many believers are doing the same thing today.

They’re waiting for Jesus to do something when He’s already spoken.

Jesus said, “Whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes, he will have whatever he says.” (Mark 11:23)

Jesus has given us His Word, His name, and His authority.

The question isn’t always, “Why isn’t Jesus doing something?”

Sometimes the question is, “What has Jesus already said, and am I willing to believe it enough to speak and act on it?”

Speak to the storm, the mountain, the issue, the problem.

Speak the Word of God over your situation.

Jesus said that whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Heaven backs words of faith that are spoken in agreement with God’s Word.

Don’t let the storm have the final say.

Stand on what Jesus has already said, speak in faith, and trust Him to confirm His Word.

“Who do you say that I am?”

It’s a question every person must answer.

It was the question that confronted the disciples, and the question Peter answered by revelation from God:

“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

That same question is confronting you today.

Every time someone hears the Word of God, they are being given an opportunity to recognize Jesus for who He is and respond to Him. Those moments are precious, and none of us should take them lightly.

Who do you say Jesus is?

This question doesn’t just determine where you’ll spend eternity. It affects every area of your life.

Who do you say Jesus is in salvation?

Who do you say Jesus is in healing?

Who do you say Jesus is in provision?

Who do you say Jesus is in protection?

Who do you say Jesus is in deliverance?

Who do you say Jesus is in redemption?

The way we answer those questions determines whether we’ll experience what He has promised.

Jesus is still asking the same question to each of us today.

How you answer it changes everything.

We were young.

Just learning how to trust God and believe Him for every last penny.

There are many scriptures throughout the Bible that reveal God as our Provider. These are just a few of the many scriptures we stood on during that season:

God’s Word said He would supply all our need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

It said that if God did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32).

We knew the scriptures.

But only knowing the scriptures and having them firmly established in your heart are not the same thing.

Our faith was being tested.

Not God’s Word.

God’s Word has already stood the test of time. It is tried, true, and unchanging.

It was our faith in His Word that was being tested.

So what do you do when you know what God has promised, but you don’t see it yet?

👇

1️⃣ Find the scripture(s) that promise what you need from God.

2️⃣ Meditate on those scriptures and sow the seed of God’s Word into the ground of your heart until your thinking and emotions change and you become fully persuaded that God will do exactly what He said. This is a process, and it doesn’t happen overnight.

3️⃣ Once you are convinced, ask God in faith according to His promises.

4️⃣ Continuously give God praise and thanks, speak His Word over your situation (including calling those things which be not as though they were), and stand firm regardless of what you see, hear, or feel.

5️⃣ In the meantime, obey every instruction He gives you. Whatever act of faith He puts in your heart to take, do it immediately and consistently.

Keep doing that until the answer comes and the circumstances change.

At that time, I carried a grocery list in my pocket as an act of faith.

Every day I thanked God for supplying our needs.

Every day I chose to believe His Word was true, even when there was no visible evidence.

Then, after some time had passed, someone unexpectedly took us out for a nice dinner.

Like I had been doing, I put the grocery list in my pocket, knowing that tonight could be the night we would get to go buy our groceries.

After dinner, they asked us:

“Are you believing God for groceries?”

We had never brought that up.

Not once.

The Lord had put it on their heart to ask us.

Then they immediately drove us to the best grocery store in town and said:

“Get whatever you need.”

And that’s exactly what we did.

That experience established something deeper in our hearts:

God really is our Provider.

His Word is true whether you see the answer yet or not.

If you’ll continue feeding on His Word, refusing to let go of His promises, and acting on what He tells you to do, you’ll begin to see that Word come to pass in your own life.

Today, you cannot convince us that God cannot provide groceries—or anything else we will ever need or desire according to His promises.

We’ve seen Him do it.

Again and again.

“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25)

One of the most powerful prayers you can pray is:

“Lord, not my will, but Yours be done.”

Jesus prayed this in the garden before going to the cross:

“Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” Luke 22:42

The prayer of consecration (dedication to the Lord) is not about trying to convince God to do what we want.

It’s about getting our hearts willing to do what He wants.

It’s saying:

“Lord, whatever You want, that’s what I want.”

“Wherever You want me to go, I’ll go.”

“Whatever You ask of me, I’ll do.”

If your heart isn’t willing yet, don’t be discouraged.

Are you atleast “willing” to be willing?

Pray:

“Lord, work in me both to will and to do of Your good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)

He can give you both the desire and the strength to obey Him.

A consecrated life is simply a life that stays surrendered to the Lord, trusting that His plan is always better than our own. ❤️

Anyone who steps out to obey God and gives their life to Him will never be ashamed! You’ll see God do things exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever ask or think.

Faith remembers.

Faith remembers the goodness of God.

It remembers every victory.
Every battle He brought you through.
Every healing.
Every provision.
Every prayer He answered.
Every door He opened.
Every time He protected you and your family.
Every meal on the table.
Every bill that got paid.
Every moment His grace carried you when you couldn’t carry yourself.

The enemy would love for you to focus on what you don’t have, what hasn’t happened yet, or what didn’t go the way you hoped.

But faith remembers what God HAS done.

Thankfulness keeps your eyes on His faithfulness.

Take time today to remember.
Write it down.
Ponder it often.
Treasure it in your heart.

The same God who was faithful then is faithful now.

And when you do, you make room for Him to do even more in your life.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”
Psalm 103:2

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

🔥 Ready to leave defeat behind and walk in the victory life Jesus paid for?

It starts with YOUR THINKING.

📖 “… the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.” 2 Sam. 8:14 ESV

How do you see yourself? What do you believe is your destiny as a Christian? The way you think directly affects whether you live life defeated or victorious.

🏆 “Now thanks be unto God, which ALWAYS causes us to triumph in Christ…” 2 Cor. 2:14 KJV

📖 “…God is no respecter of persons:” Acts 10:34 KJV

If God gave David victory everywhere he went, God wants to give YOU victory everywhere YOU go! But it doesn’t come by wishing. You’ve got to change what you believe and the way you think to agree with the Bible.

⬇️ Here’s how…

① Find Scriptures that fit the area(s) you want to see victory in.

For example, if you want to see victory in your finances, find Scripture(s) on what the Bible says about finances.

② Sow the seed of the Word of God IN YOUR HEART until faith comes and your thinking changes. This is a mind-renewal process and it doesn’t happen overnight!

📖 Prov 4:20-21 ESV
“My son, be attentive to my words… keep them within your HEART.”

📖 Luke 8:11 KJV
“…The seed is the word of God.”

📖 Gal 6:7-8 KJV
“…for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap…”

③ Change the course of your life with the rudder of your mouth—YOUR TONGUE!

📖 James 3:4-5 ESV
“Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also THE TONGUE…”

⛈️ Do you feel like you live in a perpetual storm? That’s a big sign you’re constantly steering your ship (your life) INTO the storms instead of away from them! If you’re in a storm, get out of it!

But how?! 🗣️ With the rudder of your life. Your tongue! Take that rudder and SPEAK (God’s Words) your way out of the storm!

📖 Luke 6:45 KJV
“…for of the abundance of the heart HIS MOUTH SPEAKS.” ❤️ You will speak whatever your heart is full of.

🌱 Sow it full of God’s Word then speak with your tongue (out of your mouth) and you will experience the life that you SPEAK!

A lot of Christians love the idea of Jesus being part of their life.

They just don’t want Him leading it.

But you can’t be fully surrendered to Jesus while holding tightly to your own agenda. If you prioritize your plans, your desires, your comfort, your way…

Who are you really following?

Following Jesus isn’t adding Him to your life.

It’s giving Him your life.

A lot of Christians want Jesus as Savior… but not as Lord.

They want His blessings, His protection, His promises—but when He starts asking them to lay something down, change direction, forgive someone, give something up, or follow Him somewhere uncomfortable, that’s where the line gets drawn.

The truth?

You can’t follow your own plan and God’s plan at the same time.

One will always require surrender to the other.

When Jesus becomes Lord, His plans take priority over your own. His direction becomes more important than your preferences. His will matters more than your comfort.

His way is better than anything you could ever come up with on your own—but you’ll never experience it if you’re unwilling to follow Him wherever He leads.

This is why some Christians never step into the fullness of what God has for them.

Not because God is withholding.

Because they won’t follow.

If you truly want Jesus to be Lord and not just part of your life, ask Him what He wants for you. Inquire of Him. Follow where He leads.

Because Jesus never asked people to simply believe in Him.

He called them to follow Him.

The Lord showed me a puzzle piece analogy for making decisions, and it has helped me so much.

📖 Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

On each decision, practice getting completely quiet for 1 minute.

During this one minute, hold the question to the Lord in your mind with one hand, and ask Him for the answer with the other hand.

In other words, hold the question in your mind while you ask Him for the answer.

Look down into your spirit like you’re looking down into a well.

📖 Proverbs 20:5 (KJV)

“Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.”

The Lord will speak to you in those moments. A thought will come floating up from your “well” into your mind.

Grab that thought and apply it to the puzzle.

Is it the piece you’re looking for?

How will you know?

There will be a sense of belonging and connection, like finding a missing piece of a puzzle you’re working on and connecting it.

That’s the same sensation—when the puzzle piece locks in.

Your mind will want to talk to you, but shut out the reasoning and just go with what you have in your spirit.

“But what if I’m missing it?”

Repeat the process 3 or 4 times.

If each time there’s a witness, you have your answer.

📖 Romans 8:16 (KJV)

“The Spirit [Himself] beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

God is faithful to lead those who are sincerely seeking Him.

If you’re going to mess up, the Lord will check you and help you in so many ways if you did your best to submit your question to Him.

He won’t let you fall.

📖 Psalm 56:13 (ESV)

“For you have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.”

📖 Jude 1:24 (KJV)

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,”

With the Lord, once you get the right answer, it grows on you.

The peace grows.

The witness grows.

And the puzzle piece fits every time.

Do you trust what will happen to your life when you decide to follow Jesus?

Do you trust where He’s leading you?

He’s not leading you into a new version of a miserable life. He’s leading you out of that and into prosperity, healing and joy unspeakable.

He bore all the evil of this world so that YOU could enjoy life and life more abundantly.

But you’ve got to follow Him.

A lot of people struggle with asking God for what they need.

Usually it comes down to one of three things:

👉 Too Afraid to ask

Afraid God won’t come through.
Afraid they’ll be disappointed.
Afraid the answer will be no.

But Jesus said:

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:11)

God is a good Father.

👉 Too prideful to ask.

They don’t want to admit they need help.
They’d rather carry the burden themselves.

But Scripture says:

“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)

Humility asks.
Pride struggles alone.

👉 You dread to ask.

Slothfulness / Passivity

Not because they don’t believe God can do it.

They just keep putting it off.

Tomorrow.
Next week.
When life slows down.

But Scripture says:

“He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

God rewards those who diligently seek Him—not those who endlessly delay.

James 4:2 says:
“You do not have because you do not ask.”

God isn’t bothered by your needs.
He isn’t annoyed by your requests.
He isn’t asking you to carry burdens He told you to bring to Him.

So ask.
Seek.
Knock.

Your Father is listening. ❤️ He wants to do for YOU exceedingly and abundantly above ALL you could ASK or think!
