Moses had power. He had authority. But he was never meant to carry the weight alone.

Legacy is not built by holding everything tightly. It is built by making room for others.

You can start alone, but you were never meant to finish alone. If your leadership doesn’t make room for others, your legacy will die with you.

Today we honor Juneteenth, commemorating June 19, 1865, when the news of freedom finally reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas.

As we remember this significant moment in our nation’s history, we celebrate the God-given dignity and worth of every person. We also reflect on our calling as the Church—to pursue unity, love one another deeply, and live as one body in Christ.

May this day inspire us to listen, learn, and continue building communities marked by grace, reconciliation, and peace.

In Moses’ story, we see a leader who kept returning to God again and again. Not perfectly, but faithfully. And that’s where the practice of leadership begins: in the daily choice to listen, trust, obey, and stay faithful in the small things.

This week, let’s keep showing up.
Let’s keep returning to God.
