My ADHD really be ADHD-ing! 😭😂

I literally bring EVERYTHING I need to record content. Tripod? ✅ Camera? ✅ Lighting? ✅ A whole vision for the content? ✅

Then somebody says, “Can you do my henna?” and baby, I’m in artist mode IMMEDIATELY. 😂 Next thing I know, I’ve done a whole bunch of beautiful designs, my camera is still in the bag, and all that good content is GONE. 😩

At least my clients leave with beautiful henna, even if y’all never get to see half of what I actually do. 😂🤎

Please tell me I’m not the only business owner who stays forgetting to document the business because they’re too busy DOING the business! 😭

One of the most humbling parts of owning a small business is knowing that someone could spend their hard-earned money anywhere, but they chose **YOU.** 🥹🤎

Out of all the options, all the brands, and all the businesses out there, you chose to support mine. And that’s something I’ll never take for granted.

Every order, every booking, every referral, every share, and every kind word means more than you know. You’re not just supporting a business. You’re supporting a dream that I’ve poured my heart, time, energy, and love into.

Whether Bodi by Samirah ever goes viral or not, knowing that people believe in what I’m building is already such a blessing. Alhamdulillah, always. 🤲🏽🌿

To everyone who has ever supported Bodi by Samirah, **thank you for choosing me.** 🤎

Of course, love! 😍✨ Go ahead and tap on any video!

Every design tells a story, and every henna session is an opportunity to create something beautiful and unique. From delicate details to bold, intricate patterns, I pour so much love, patience, and creativity into every piece. 🌿

There’s just something so special about turning a blank canvas into wearable art. 🤎

Which design caught your eye? Tell me in the comments! 👀✨

Hi, my name is Samirah, and I absolutely LOVE being a henna artist! 🤎🌿✨

There’s something so special about turning a blank canvas into a beautiful piece of art. Every swirl, every detail, every design is created with love, patience, and intention. 🥹

But my favorite part? The smiles, the conversations, the connections, and watching someone fall in love with their henna. That feeling never gets old. 🫶🏽

What started as a love for creativity has become one of my favorite ways to connect with people and share a little beauty with the world.

So here’s a little glimpse into my happy place. 🤎

Long Live Ahmad. 🤎

Sometimes, the conversations that happen in my henna chair stay with me long after the henna has dried.
At Art All Night, a 13-year-old girl sat down at my table and asked me to write, “Long Live Ahmad.”

She told me Ahmad was her friend. He was only 13 years old, too, and just a few months ago, he was killed by gun violence.

When she first came over, she was so quiet. Her face was stoic. I couldn’t get much out of her at first. And then, as she sat in my chair, she told me why she wanted those words written on her skin.

I won’t pretend that hearing it didn’t shake me.
But in that moment, my job was to hold space for her, listen, and give her exactly what she came to me for—a way to honor her friend.

After I finished her henna, she sat in the chair beside my table waiting for it to dry. And little by little, I watched this quiet young girl begin to light up. She talked with her friends. She smiled. I got to see a glimpse of the 13-year-old child behind the grief she was carrying.

That part has stayed with me.

I kept thinking about how young she was. How young he was. And how a child can somehow carry grief, loyalty, friendship, and joy all at the same time.

Her resilience moved me. But I also couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that a 13-year-old shouldn’t have to be resilient because her 13-year-old friend was killed.
People often see the finished henna designs I create, but they don’t always see the conversations that happen while someone is sitting across from me. My henna chair has held laughter, celebrations, stories, vulnerability—and sometimes grief.

That night, it held the love of one young friend remembering another.

Long Live Ahmad. 🤎

May his memory continue to be carried by the people who loved him, and may this young girl never lose the light I had the privilege of seeing return to her face that night.
