Teddie Mae Winsett Howell, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Bowie, Texas, surrounded by her husband of 61 years and her loving family on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6th, at the First Methodist Church of Bowie with Rev. Jason Sutfin officiating.

Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.

Family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, September 5th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, TX.

Teddie was born on April 10, 1946, in Bowie, Texas, to James Fred (PaPa) Winsett and Iola Pearl (Ole) Reasoner Winsett. She graduated from Bowie High School in 1964. On May 21, 1965, she married the love of her life, Jack Howell Sr., in Bowie, Texas, beginning a beautiful marriage that spanned 61 years.

Teddie was a devoted Christian and a proud member of First Methodist Church of Bowie. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she so freely gave to her family and those around her.

Teddie was the beloved matriarch of her family. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, searching for new recipes to add to her collection, and, most of all, spending precious time with her great-grandchildren.

Teddie is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Jack Howell Sr.; her children, Jack Howell Jr. of Runaway Bay, Texas, and Melissa Robinson of Bowie, Texas; her grandchildren, Levi Hickey and wife Haley, Cory Hickey and wife Jaimie, Kylie Ward and husband Jay, Seth Robinson, Adrienne Howell, Hunter Howell and wife Taitlyn, and Cash Howell; and her great-grandchildren, Braxton Holley, Brooklee Hickey, Cayden Hickey, Zoe Hickey, Maggie Ward, Jayton Ward, and Lyla Ward, Holly Howell, and Sadie Howell. She is also survived by her niece, Toni Covington and husband Cody, along with many other beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Fred Winsett; her mother, Iola Pearl Winsett; her sister, Freda Pearl Winsett; and her son-in-law, Mark Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, Teddie wished for donations to be made to First Methodist Church of Bowie.
