St. Michael's Episcopal Cathedral Boise

St. Michael's Episcopal Cathedral Boise We the people of St. Michael's are part of Christ's Body in the world.

In our Baptismal Covenant, we promise to strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being. In these unsettled times, we recommit ourselves to live by our Baptismal Covenant and challenge ourselves and our community to promote justice for all and practice humility and compassion through our words and our deeds.

Our 2025-2026 program year came to a close with exuberant musical worship on Trinity Sunday in both the morning and afternoon. With 125 worshippers in attendance, Father Sean and the Cathedral Choir led a beautiful Choral Evensong. This service included an induction ceremony for new youth choristers, the singing of the Solemn Te Deum, and the beloved evening hymn β€œThe day thou gavest, Lord, is ended.” WELL DONE to the good and faithful servants of all ages in our music ministry, and all who give their talents and skills to support our public worship!

THIS SUMMER:
Do you break out in a cold sweat when you glance at that blue hymnal in the pew rack? Do you slam it shut on the first verse, overwhelmed by the musical gobbledy-gook? Do you shudder at the idea of someone standing next to you hearing you sing off-key? Then this class is for you. Take a chill pill... it's NOT choir rehearsal! Spend an hour with Canon Harrison every week as we de-mystify the basics of reading music and find our singing voice as a group. In addition we will learn about the historical background of music in the Episcopal Church through reading assignments and guided discussions out of the book "O Sing Unto the Lord" by Andrew Gant.
The schedule will be finalized to work best for those who register. The deadline to sign up is May 31st. Use the Google Form linked here: https://forms.gle/jXTzCTmcHBpes8bN8
