We are thrilled to announce our new Youth Director at our Downtown Campus! Alex Shriver will join us in September from Illinois and we are confident that his love for youth and his passion for their spiritual formation will be a real gift for our church and community.

This Sunday at all three services we’ll take the opportunity to thank and bless the Quissell family as they transition out of leading our Youth Ministry after ten years. There will be refreshments in the Narthex and you can visit with them between each service. Feel free to bring in cards of celebration and thanks as well. We’ll see a video of our youth and adult leaders from their mission trip at Tijuana Christian Mission and we’ll catch up with Pastor Duane on his journey. We can't wait to worship with you!

Day 6 was our final day in Rosarito with the younger children. They always keep us running and playing hard! We wrapped up our time here with our traditional soccer match. It was fun to see some of the orphanage staff get out on the field.

Day 5 was an absolute blast! Our teens got to tag along for surf lessons with a Christian surfing organization that provides lessons to the orphanage twice a month. Our teens teamed up with surf instructors to keep the kids safe in the water and calm their nerves. The joy that came from this experience was indescribable!

After a group barbecue along the beach, we were able to play with the kids and share beautiful moments with them, while giving their caregivers a much needed break. The icing on the cake has been watching the friendships and camaraderie grow within our group of teens ❤️

On Day 4 (Friday) we finished up our drywall and painting projects, and built cabinets for the girl’s dorm bathroom. Staff then brought us to the street market and down to the the beach for awhile. We took the entire crew out to dinner for delicious tacos at a great spot in Tijuana!

Day 3: Mud, drywall & paint. More cement. More paint. Kitchen help. Dish duty. Board games. Friend-making.
