Pike Baptist Church would like to officially welcome our new pastor Austin Bratton. More to come later but for now a word directly from him. Welcome to the community Austin.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as your pastor at Pike Baptist Church. It’s a joy and a privilege to be part of such a loving, close-knit church family, and I look forward to walking with you as we help one another embrace faith, family, and purpose in Christ.
I came to faith in Christ during high school, and from those early years through college and beyond, the Lord has continued to grow in me a deep passion to see people come to know Jesus’ love—both where I am and around the world. I believe God is at work mightily across the nations and in everyday places like our own community, and that He alone is worthy of our praise, admiration, and worship. He is the One our souls truly long for.
Over the past 11 years, my family and I have served at The Cross Church in Wylie, where God has shaped my love for His Word and for caring for people through teaching, discipleship, and ministry alongside others. Along the way, the Lord made clear His call for me to preach and shepherd, and I pursued seminary training to better serve the local church.
Having grown up in a small town in northeast Texas, I have always been drawn back to rural communities where relationships matter and neighbors look out for one another. My desire is to take my time learning your stories, faithfully preach God’s Word, and invest in this community for the long term, Lord willing.
My wife, Robin, and I are thankful for how God has led our family here. We’re excited to put down roots and serve faithfully alongside our children—Eleanor (15), Turner (14), and David (13)—as well as my mom, Lynn, and to be part of what God is doing at Pike.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine… to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20–21
