đź’» Happy National IT Professionals Day! đź’»

Behind every smooth school day is someone working behind the scenes to keep us connected, our technology working, and our problems solved!

Today we want to give a special THANK YOU to our amazing IT professional for everything you do for St. Agnes. From troubleshooting technology issues and keeping our systems running to answering our many questions, your patience, knowledge, and willingness to help never go unnoticed.

So much of what you do happens quietly behind the scenes, but it makes a BIG difference in our school every single day.

We are incredibly grateful for your hard work, dedication, and all the ways you help keep St. Agnes running smoothly! 💻❤️

Happy National IT Professionals Day!
May God bless you for sharing your time and talents with our St. Agnes family. 🙏

With appreciation,

You’re invited! St. Agnes is excited to welcome the entire community to an Open House on Saturday, September 12, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM.

This is not just for St. Agnes parishioners—all are welcome to come and see our recently renovated church, take a closer look at the artwork and other improvements, and learn more about the work that went into the project.

Fr. Weber and lead artist Ali Cavanaugh will be present throughout the open house to visit with guests and answer questions about the church, the artwork, and the renovation process.

Whether you are a parishioner, a neighbor, a friend of the parish, or simply someone from the community who would like to stop in and see the church, we would be delighted to welcome you.

Please join us anytime between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. We hope to see you there!

One of the new features parishioners will notice when St. Agnes reopens is our new eagle lectern, purchased as part of the church renovation.

The eagle has a long history as a Christian symbol connected with the proclamation of the Gospel. Most particularly, it is the traditional symbol of St. John the Evangelist, whose Gospel begins by soaring, as it were, into the heights of heaven: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Because the eagle was believed to fly higher than other birds and to gaze toward the sun, Christians came to see it as a fitting image of the Gospel, which raises our minds from earthly things to the mysteries of God.

For this reason, eagle-shaped lecterns began appearing in medieval churches and became especially popular in the later Middle Ages. Many beautiful examples survive from the 14th and 15th centuries, particularly in the churches of England and northern Europe. The Scriptures were placed upon the eagle’s outstretched wings so that, quite literally, the Word of God was proclaimed from the eagle.

Although an eagle lectern will be something new for many at St. Agnes, the tradition itself is centuries old—and some may recognize it from our neighboring parish in Ste. Genevieve.

We hope that this new addition will not only add to the beauty of our renovated church, but will also remind us each time the Scriptures are proclaimed that the Word of God calls us to lift our minds and hearts toward heaven. 🦅📖

We look forward to everyone seeing it—and the rest of the renovated church—very soon!

Our Young Adult Bible Study begins tonight at 5:30 PM at St. Agnes!

For our first week, the group will be looking at Creation and the nature of God—not only how the world came to be, but what the story of creation reveals about God as powerful, intentional, and personally involved in His creation.

We’ll spend time with passages from Genesis 1–2, Psalm 19, John 1:1–3, and Colossians 1:15–17, along with discussion and reflection together.
