Daystar First Church of God

Daystar First Church of God Sunday School 9:30 - Sunday Morning Service 10:30 We are a First Church of God affiliated with the Church of God of Anderson, Indiana.

The following is a general overview of our beliefs:
-Salvation makes us members of the body of Christ. We believe that the church is composed of every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. We enter into the life of the church, not by joining a denomination or a human organization, but by committing our lives to Christ.
-The body of Christ is one, here and now. We believe that God calls

all Christians to live in unity and peace. While Christians may not agree on all things, we can embrace the spirit of Christ in caring concern for one another. Jesus is our common foundation, and love is our only creed!
-All members of the body of Christ are to live a holy life. We believe that God's standard of life for all Christians is one of moral purity and godliness, to live as Christ. As God's people, we represent Christ in this world. In addition to these beliefs, we embrace these core biblical values:

-The Lordship of Jesus Christ. There is one Lord, God's Son, Jesus Christ, over the church, so Christ is the church's ultimate authority in all things.
-The Great Commission. Each of us is called to fulfill Matthew 28:18–20, making fully devoted followers of Christ—disciples—who will then teach others to follow him.
-The Great Commandments. We are called to fulfill Matthew 22:37–39, not only loving God with our entire being, but also loving all that he loves.
-The Holy Spirit's Work. God's Spirit equips believers with unique gifts that enable us to carry out the mission of Christ in the world. At the same time, the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in every believer (Galatians 5:22–23), which demonstrate the Spirit's presence within us.

Join us this Sunday morning at Daystar where we will be diving into Matthew's Gospel account to see what the Lord wants to show us and reveal to our hearts. Sometimes we get anxious, or afraid of the calling and commission God has placed on our lives, but Scripture (God's promises) can and will provide us with great comfort as we march forward with "torch" in hand KNOWING that He is with us and gives us the right words at just the right time. Always remember, we have been set apart for a specific purpose in God's eyes. He will always guide and provide as we walk into the unknown, never leaving us, but always by our side. When the heat gets turned up in the Christian life, God Himself is magnified and glorified through our words. actions, and love. The Book of Acts will be our lesson for the Sunday School hour, so if you're able to come out a little early, we'd love for you to join us in fellowship for that meeting as well! Sermon: Insurmountable? (Duet. 34:1-12; 2 Peter 1:5-8)

Please join us this Sunday as we open up the Scriptures and invite the Spirit of God to open up our hearts for this most important topic of "Mountain Climbing". We'd like to extend a heartfelt invitation to anyone who might feel drawn or maybe just have surface level curiosity about what the Bible says about how we ought to live our lives. The Bible has its way of cutting right to the core of who we are because its words are living and active and they have the power to discern the thoughts and intentions of our hearts. That's why we continue to preach from it as there is no other book in the world like it. We will be holding two meetings this Sunday--service times listed below. Join us this Sunday for Mother's Day as we look at the life of one of the Bible's unsung heroes and discuss the influence and impact a faithful mother can have on a life dedicated to the Lord and the impactful ripple effect that can have on our world! The Bible touches every aspect of our lives, and by no means does it leave the beauty of motherhood out. We hope you'll come to Daystar and be blessed by the reading and teaching of God's Word as we sing our grateful, heartfelt praise to the One who died to set us free! Bring your mother and anyone else who would be drawn by God's grace to be a part of what our Lord is doing in Blanchester. Join us this Sunday morning at Daystar First Church of God where we will be talking about the Battlefield of the Mind and why it is so important for us to take all thoughts captive and rely on God's Word for guidance in our lives! God inspired each and every word written in the pages of Scripture and He speaks extensively on this very subject, but how will we ever know if we haven't read or heard? That's why we're asking you to join us as we open the Book and see what the Spirit of the Lord would have to say. If you're hungry for truth, please bring your family and/or friends as we seek to have a closer relationship with the One who died and rose again to set us free! As usual, we will be holding two services Sunday morning: Sunday School Bible Lesson will begin at 9:30 am, and our Worship Service held in the Main Sanctuary will be held at 10:30 am. Praying that you'll come be a part of what God is doing in Blanchester and hope to see you there!
