This week's shout out Saturday us Sue Brown!

Sue is someone who loves her family and Jesus. She is supportive and caring and on top of that, a great cook. Sue has been a faithful wife, mother, and grandmother. She is a great encourager and makes a point to check on people who are sick or in need.

Sue has served faithfully as a caregiver for several of family, which displays her love for Jesus. Sue is someone you want on your side and she will do her best to go the extra mile for her family, friends, and church family.

Sue doesn't see the limelight, even with those fancy hats she wears, but instead she quietly lives out her faith to the glory of God in service to others. She is always making sure to tell her pastor that she's made this or that at one of our meals because she knows he will like it.

Not only is Sue an encourager and servant, she also is a provider. She is quick to give not just of her time and love. Even during times of losses her giving heart has shined forth because she knows where she is going and who is there waiting on her.

Let's give a shoutout to Sue Brown!

Our Worship Wednesday will look a little different this week. While we usually share a song of worship, this week we will be looking into the Scriptures for our song of worship.

The Book of Psalms contains many such songs, many of those recorded by David. For our first Psalm of Worship, I will be sharing the first of the Psalms of Ascent. These songs were to be sung by the Israelites as they came into the city of Jerusalem on feast/festival times. They could be heard singing them as they ascended into the city.

Psalms 120 (NKJV)

Plea for Relief from Bitter Foes
A Song of Ascents.

1 In my distress I cried to the Lord,
And He heard me.
2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips
And from a deceitful tongue.
3 What shall be given to you,
Or what shall be done to you,
You false tongue?
4 Sharp arrows of the warrior,
With coals of the broom tree!
5 Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech,
That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
6 My soul has dwelt too long
With one who hates peace.
7 I am for peace;
But when I speak, they are for war.
