Pressing Toward the Eternal Hope Ahead
There are moments in life when the road behind us feels longer than the road ahead. Our bodies slow down, our memories soften, and the world around us changes faster than we can keep up. But Scripture reminds us that for the believer, the most important part of the journey is not behind us, it is still ahead.

Paul says in Philippians 3 that he is “pressing on toward the goal.” He is leaning forward, not backward. He is reaching for something he has not yet fully seen but deeply believes in. And that is the invitation for us today.

Spirit of Encouragement

God is quietly doing a powerful work at Union Memorial AMEC. Though we are small in number, we serve a great and faithful God who delights in using willing hearts to shine His light. May we continue to be a family where love is felt, prayer is strong, and every person knows they matter to the Lord. Let us keep encouraging one another, showing up for one another, and trusting that God has more ahead for us than what we see today. He is with us, He is for us, and He is working through us. To God be the glory.

Prayer of Trust and Confidence.
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am eternally secure in Christ. No sin can undo what You have done. But I don’t take Your grace lightly, I want to walk in step with Your Spirit, drawing from Your life in me rather than giving in to old patterns. I trust You to keep forming Christ in me, even when You use discipline to wake me up. I rest in Your cleansing and in Your love. You are faithful not only to save me, but to shape me for Your glory and my joy.

Dr. Cheatom has been selected as Union’s April Spotlight, and it’s easy to see why. You’ll find her everywhere … serving faithfully, joyfully, and exactly where she’s needed. She welcomes everyone to Sunday School at 9 a.m., teaching with a smile that makes you feel right at home. As a long time delegate, she represents Union with grace, dedication, and excellence. Thank you, Dr. Cheatom, for showing up as your full, authentic self. Your service, your spirit, and your heart make you truly deserving of this recognition.

Today’s Easter worship service touched me deeply. It was absolutely magnificent. Everyone who took part poured so much love and dedication into it, and I felt it in every moment. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ truly makes a difference in my life, because His rising lifts me up with Him. I could sense God’s presence so clearly in our service today, it was powerful, comforting, and unforgettable. Happy Resurrection to all!
