When it comes to following God, we’re not called to live with one foot in and one foot out!

The Hokey Pokey may be a fun childhood game, but it’s not a good model for our relationship with God. This Sunday, we’re diving deeper into the book of James and what it teaches us about the difference between friendship with the world and friendship with God. Are we fully committed to following Jesus, or are we trying to have it both ways? What if we’ve been so focused on getting people to church that we’ve forgotten what Jesus actually called us to do?

Going to church and being the church are two very different things. Church isn’t simply a place we attend or a social club with better morals—it’s the people of God living out the gospel. When we focus on being the church, we become witnesses of Jesus, bringing His love, hope, and truth into a world that desperately needs Him. The gospel is what changes people, changes lives, and changes the world.

This Sunday - Being the church

What if being the church has less to do with where you go on Sunday and more to do with how you live every day?

We often talk about “going to church,” but Scripture calls us to something much bigger: being the church. In Acts chapter 2, we see what it looks like for believers to live in community, worship together, serve one another, and put their faith into action. This Sunday, we’ll dive into what it truly means to be the church—and then live it out together with worship and a potluck lunch after service! Life can feel like a seesaw—one minute you're up, the next you're down. But what if your stability isn't found in your circumstances, but in a God who never changes?

Work changes. Relationships change. Circumstances change. Life can leave us feeling like we're constantly riding a seesaw of ups and downs. But while everything around us may shift, God remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. His grace, love, mercy, and joy are consistent. When life feels unstable, we can step off the seesaw and place our trust in the One who never changes. Go with God, and find the stability your soul is looking for.

Stop Being a Fan—Become a Follower 🙌

Sports fans can be fickle—they celebrate when their team wins and turn on them when they lose. But Jesus calls us to something deeper than being a fan. He says, “Come and follow me,” inviting us into a life of purpose, commitment, and transformation. When we choose to follow Jesus, we become part of something greater and discover the purpose He has for our lives. It’s time to stop being a fan and become a follower!

What do you get when you mix great music, bingo, fun prizes, and wonderful friends? A whole lot of laughter and memories!

Three Timbers Church had a wonderful time with our friends at Ridgewood Retirement Living. After our chapel service, we gathered in the recreation room for Music Bingo, welcoming people of all ages. Around 20 participants enjoyed familiar songs, exciting bingo games, and fun prizes. The excitement peaked with the final blackout round, where one lucky winner took home a giant Squishmallow dog! We’re thankful for the Ridgewood recreation director and everyone who helped make the afternoon such a fun time of fellowship and community.
