Today the seminary we operate in Missouri begins a new academic year. Please keep in prayer these young men in priestly formation.

Welcome back, seminarians!

Today marks the beginning of a new year of formation and discernment at Conception Seminary College. This year, we welcome more than 70 seminarians from 14 dioceses, our highest enrollment in quite a few years!

We give thanks for each young man who has answered the call to explore where God may be leading him. Please join us in praying for our seminarians as they begin another year of prayer, study, fraternity and discernment. May God bless their time at Conception and guide them ever closer to His will.

Abbot Paul Sheller, OSB, elected Abbot of Conception Abbey and St. Benedict's Priory today July 11, 2026.

We joyfully announce the election of Abbot Paul Sheller, OSB, as the 11th Abbot of Conception Abbey.

Elected by the Benedictine monks on July 11, Abbot Paul succeeds Abbot Benedict Neenan, OSB, and now begins his ministry as the spiritual and temporal leader of our monastic community. A monk of Conception Abbey since 2006 and a priest since 2013, Abbot Paul has faithfully served in many roles, most recently as Director of the Abbey Guest Center, Vocation Director, and Master of Ceremonies.

Please join us in praying for Abbot Paul as he begins this new chapter of leadership, and in gratitude for Abbot Benedict's faithful decade of service.
