Before we begin our weekly gathering, those serving each Sunday come together to pray.

I love the sweetness of this time. It's a reminder that church is not ultimately built on programs, plans, or people, but on our dependence upon God.

This group helps set up, run tech, lead worship, teach, care for kids and youth, welcome guests, and serve in countless ways behind the scenes. Different gifts, different roles, one team.

This is God's design for the church—many parts working together as one body for His glory and the good of others.

Grateful for each person who serves so faithfully.

Let's go!

Our Theology Group is continuing its study of the Holy Spirit as we explore His person, presence, and ministry throughout Scripture.

Together, we're seeking to develop a comprehensive biblical understanding of who the Holy Spirit is, how He relates to us, and how He works in the life of the believer and the church today.

Whether you're new to theology or have been studying the Bible for years, we'd love to have you join the conversation.

Can't make it in person? You can watch recordings of previous sessions on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/

Want to learn how to interpret the Bible more effectively?

The Bible was written in a different time, culture, and language context than our own, which can sometimes make it challenging to understand and apply. That's why Doug Mar is leading a series of short, practical seminars called Philip Briefings.

These 30–45 minute sessions are designed to help you learn a variety of Bible study methods while exploring key passages related to the gospel, salvation, and foundational Christian beliefs. Whether you're new to studying Scripture or have been reading the Bible for years, these seminars will help you grow in your ability to understand and apply God's Word.

The seminars are based on resources developed by Helpmewithbiblestudy.org, an independent ministry dedicated to helping people learn how to read the Bible and think more systematically about their faith. Their goal is to equip believers to develop their own theology through careful study of Scripture.

Anthem Church is pleased to provide the location for these seminars and supports the ministry of Helpmewithbiblestudy.org.

Our church family gathered for an important milestone in the life of Anthem Church.

Over the past year, we have been engaged in a strategic planning process rooted in prayer, listening, and seeking the Lord together. More than 90% of our church family participated in the listening phase, helping us better understand where God has brought us, what He is doing among us, and where He may be leading us next.

During our Family Meeting, we shared what we planned in response to the listening phase, celebrated God's faithfulness, and introduced several initiatives that we believe will help us strengthen our church, reach our neighbors, and develop leaders in the years ahead.

What encouraged me most was not simply the plans themselves, but the spirit in which we gathered. There was a genuine sense of unity, participation, and hope as people prayed, listened, asked questions, and considered how God might be calling them to respond.

As we move from the planning phase into the implementation phase, we do so with humility and dependence upon the Lord. Our confidence is not in our plans, but in God's faithfulness. We are grateful for everyone who participated in this process and look forward to seeing what God will do as we continue seeking Him together.

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain." (Psalm 127:1)

Join us today at the chapel of Eastside Christian School at 9:30a for our weekly church gathering to worship, to learn from God's Word, to pray, and to fellowship together.

Last Sunday, we continued our journey through the book of Esther as guest teacher Alex Kato led us through Esther 4, which is the pivotal moment when Esther faced a decision that could cost her everything. Rather than choosing comfort or safety, she chose courage and obedience for the good of others, declaring, “If I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16).

It was a powerful reminder that following God's calling often requires faith-filled risk, trusting Him with the outcome while seeking the good of those around us.

One final observation from the morning: Alex, his son Oliver, and Pastor Phil would like everyone to know that they did not coordinate their outfits. And yet somehow all three showed up in navy shirts and khaki pants. We'll let you decide whether that's coincidence or divine providence. 😉

Please be praying for our church plant in Upton, Wyoming. It’s so encouraging to hear how God is continuing to work through Pastor Jeff and Beth Newcomer and their church family.

In a town of around 1,000 people, seeing about 50 people faithfully gathering together to learn from God’s Word, worship, pray, and share fellowship together is such a testimony to God’s grace and blessing. We were especially encouraged to hear about someone recently accepting Christ, and also from an elder who has been part of the church from the very beginning and shared how much he loves what God is doing through the church family there.

God is faithfully building His church in places big and small, and we’re grateful to be connected to the work He is doing in Upton. Please continue praying for strength, unity, spiritual growth, and continued gospel impact in their community. 🙏

Last week, a group of youth gathered together to ask honest and meaningful questions about the Christian faith. Erika and Taylor, who are part of Young Life, and along with the students there invited Pastor Phil to lead a discussion around difficult topics like how a loving God relates to suffering, the trustworthiness of the Bible, and how we work through our struggles in life.

What a blessing to see young people willing to ask real questions, listen thoughtfully, and engage in meaningful conversations about faith. We’re thankful for Young Life, for John Franco, and then their leaders like Erika and Taylor who create spaces where students feel welcomed, cared for, and encouraged to seek truth together. 🙏

New ESL Class - wanna help?

God is bringing the world to our city. In Bellevue alone, more than 60,000 residents are foreign-born, and over 12,000 report that difficulty understanding English limits their ability to fully participate in society. What an opportunity for us to love our neighbors and meet a very real need in our community.

This photo is from when we served in person at Bellevue College through our Talk Time ministry, bringing international students and English language learners together in community and conversation. Husen did an incredible job leading then, and he continues faithfully serving today through online ESL classes on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights — now even adding another class to help meet the growing need.

We would love more people to join in serving. Even one hour a week can make a meaningful difference as we seek to love and welcome our neighbors well. 🙏

One of my favorite things about gathering together as a church is watching people linger after the service — sharing conversations, laughing together, encouraging one another, and enjoying food together.

Those moments are simple and significant gifts that remind us of God's grace. Church is more than attending a service; it’s being a family that shares life together. What a blessing it is to see relationships growing and people feeling connected and cared for within the church community. 🙏

Sadie did an amazing job preparing our kids to lead us in worship on Sunday. ❤️Pastor Phil and Carl did their best to dance along with the kids to show their support. 🤣Eloise was so helpful that Sunday too!!! Grateful for our church community, who enjoys singing praises to God and while laughing through life and supporting one another.
