Sermon Recap - Sun., Sep. 20, 2026
"Look What the Lord Has Done" | Psalm 126:1-3 ESV
Pastor Robert E. Walker, Jr.

What a powerful word we received from Pastor Robert E. Walker, Jr. as we celebrated the faithfulness of God through the years!

Drawing from Psalm 126:1–4 (ESV), Pastor Walker challenged us to look back over the history of this local body of Christ—the people who have come and gone, the changes in leadership, the seasons of joy and difficulty, and all the circumstances that could have taken Starlight out. Yet through it all, God has kept us! 🙌🏾

God’s hand has been on this church. We are not here simply because of what we have done, but because of His grace, His faithfulness, and His keeping power. This anniversary is a celebration of the God who has sustained Starlight through every season.

Two significant words from the message were “FORWARD” and “SHIFT.”

FORWARD reminds us that we cannot live only in what God has done in the past. We honor our history while continuing to move forward into what God has in store for Starlight.

SHIFT reminds us of Psalm 126, where God began to shift their situation. What had been a season of captivity was transformed into a season of restoration, laughter, and joy. The same God who shifted their situation is still in the blessing business!

Verse 3 declares, “The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.” Their response to what God had done was praise and testimony. When God does something for you, you cannot keep it to yourself! We may not all praise God the same way, but we can all be vocal about what the Lord has done for us.

Then verse 4 gives us the cry, “Restore our fortunes, O Lord…” The call to “turn again” points to God bringing restoration once more—asking Him to do it again, to shift another situation, and to bring another season of blessing.

As we celebrate, we are celebrating more than an anniversary. We are celebrating the keeping power of God!

Look what the Lord has done!
God has kept us. God is shifting us. And God is moving us FORWARD! 🙏🏾🙌🏾
