This is the new song we have been working on the past two Sundays. We hope that as you work through the catechism question and answer this week you would also take some time to listen to this song. We pray that as we grow in our longing for that day our hearts would be moved to love and praise God today.

Catechism Question 52: What hope does everlasting life hold for us?

It reminds us that this present fallen world is not all there is; soon we will live with and enjoy God forever in the new city, in the new heaven and the new earth, where we will be fully and forever freed from all sin and will inhabit renewed resurrection bodies in a renewed, restored creation.

Take them to church.
They might be loud, they might be silly, they might get restless
But take them to church
You may get nervous they’re being disruptive or distracting
You may think everyone’s watching as they pace the floor, as they talk much louder than the rest, as they crawl from chair to chair
But take them to church
They might be listening, they might be seeing the praises, they might be seeing just what it means to give God the glory
Take them to church
They may be learning how to be quiet, they may be learning how to sit still, they may be learning how to react to the sermon
Take them to church
The way they light up when they learn their name is in the Bible, when they hear familiar stories, the way they laugh when everyone else does (even though they have no idea why)
Take them to church
You might end up having to walk around, or end up in the nursery
But take them to church
They’ll get the hang of it, they’ll start to understand.
Just take them to church
I promise their laughter, those loud words, those tiny feet stomps aren’t distracting or disruptive.
They are the sounds of a generation continuing the church, the generation that will one day lead our church, the generation we need.
Just take them to church.
