"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." — John 10:27

A sheep doesn't follow the loudest voice—it follows the one it knows.

In a world filled with opinions, distractions, fears, and endless noise, the voice of the Shepherd can seem quiet. Yet His sheep recognize Him because they have spent time with Him. His voice is familiar. It carries peace instead of panic, truth instead of confusion, conviction instead of condemnation, and love instead of fear.

The Shepherd doesn't lead His sheep by force. He calls them by name. He walks ahead of them, inviting them to trust where they cannot yet see. The more we stay close to Jesus, the easier it becomes to distinguish His voice from every counterfeit calling for our attention.

The question isn't whether the Shepherd is speaking—He is. The question is whether we've become so familiar with His voice that we can recognize it above the noise.

Today, spend time in His Word. Sit quietly in His presence. Listen. The Good Shepherd still calls His sheep, and those who know Him will always find their way by the sound of His voice.

**"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." — Psalm 37:4**

This verse is often misunderstood. It is not an invitation to use God as the means to get what we want. It is an invitation to treasure Him above everything else.

When Christ becomes our greatest delight, something remarkable happens. Our hearts begin to change. The things we once chased lose their grip, and we begin to long for what He longs for. We desire His presence more than possessions, His wisdom more than our own plans, and His glory more than our own success. God doesn't simply satisfy our desires—He transforms them.

Jesus echoes this truth in **Matthew 7:7–8**: *"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you."* Notice the progression: ask, seek, knock. This is the posture of a heart pursuing God with persistence and dependence. The greatest promise isn't merely that our requests are answered—it's that we find Him.

When our delight is in the Lord, our prayers become less about convincing God to accomplish our will and more about surrendering ourselves to His. We ask with confidence because we trust His character. We seek because we know He is worth finding. We knock because we believe our loving Father welcomes His children.

The deepest desire of every heart is not ultimately found in answered prayers, fulfilled dreams, or changed circumstances. It is found in the presence of God Himself. And when He is our greatest treasure, we discover that He has been the desire of our hearts all along.

*"The closer we draw to Christ, the more we realize that the greatest gift He gives is not what is in His hand, but His very presence."*

A Celebration of Life service for Bob Iulo will be held at Beach Lake FM Church on Sunday, August 2 at 12:00 PM. A luncheon will follow.

Today, we celebrate Bob's homecoming to Heaven while also grieving his absence here with us. Bob faithfully served the Lord and lived out Jesus' call to be a "fisher of men." His love for Christ was evident in the way he cared for others, served his church family, and shared his faith.

We are deeply thankful for the blessing Bob was to our church family. As a gifted carpenter, he faithfully used his talents throughout his life. Today, we rejoice knowing that he is in the presence of the Master Carpenter, Jesus Christ, for all eternity.

Please continue to keep Bob's family and loved ones in your prayers during this time.
