Good morning CrossLife family! I hope this week has found all of us reflecting on the things happening in the church family and that we have been in prayer, seeking God's divine intervention. Jeremiah 29:12-13 says,
"Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and i will hear you. you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
I hope you have found Him this week! October is pastor appreciation month. We know that a pastor has the responsibility of proclaiming the word of God, leading and guiding, serving as a godly example, protecting the flock, serving willingly, and providing prayer and counseling for the flock. That's a daunting list!
Let me ask you, what are your responsibities as a member of the church? Well, the body is to respect and honor their pastor knowing the weight of responsibility placed on him. The body is to esteem him highly, valueing his hard work and being supportive of it. The body is to submit and cooperate with biblical leadership, making their work a joy rather than a heavy burden. The body is to support the pastor's practical needs and care for his family. The body is to be actively engagin in the life, mission, and unity of the church body. Whew! That's a daunting list too!
Please know that your pastors love you! Your pastors desire to see this body thrive and not just survive. Your pastors desire to see you all grow spiritually mature and be Christ followers in all areas of your life. Please continue to lift up your pastor's as they lift you up! Be the Light this week by showing some love for pastors, wherever you find them!
