Our next Men's Night Out gathering will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22 "up on the roof" at the Howard Hanna/Allen Tate Company, located at 736 West King Street in the heart of uptown Boone. Host Jaco Gerbrands will welcome MNO colleagues with beer, wine, and hors d'oeuvres before moving across the street at 6:30 p.m. to the South End Brewing Company for a Dutch treat dinner. On street parking is available after 5 p.m., as well as in several nearby public parking lots in Boone including the new parking deck at Water and Queen Streets.

MNO is a monthly opportunity for men from various parishes and in our community to enjoy having an evening of fellowship together. We're very flexible and inclusive, so feel free to bring a friend... or three! In order to let our gracious host know how many will be in attendance (and to make our reservation at the restaurant), please RSVP by noon on Monday, September 21 via email to [email protected]

To all Women of Holy Cross:

Have you ever felt the need to feel covered in prayer or to cover someone else in prayer? Have you ever wished you could share that need with like-minded, prayer-centered women who share your faith? Have you felt a ni**le of an idea that God may be calling you to do just that?

Are you feeling called to study Scripture, or the lives of the saints, or women of the Bible, or other faith-based literature in order to enhance your prayer life? Do you feel the need for a loving group of women to be your partners on this journey? Or are you simply curious to finally know just what it is Daughters of the King actually “IS”??

The St Helena’s Chapter of Daughters of the King at Holy Cross Church would like to invite you to join us for a study meant to reveal all! This study is specifically for women who are interested in finding out what the DOK is all about. All women of the church are welcome to join us without any obligation to formally join the group (although we would love to have you become a member at the end of the study!) The study is simply an opportunity for you to find out what we are all about.

We will begin the study on Wednesday, September 16, at 3:00. A zoom link will be made available to all interested participants who are unable to attend in person. There is a weekly mid-week Communion Service with Healing Prayers that follows at 4:00 in the sanctuary, that is open to the public. We hope you will join up there as well.

🙏 Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Augustine of Hippo (354–430), one of the most important theologians and teachers of the early Christian Church.

A bishop in North Africa, Augustine’s writings profoundly shaped Christian thought on grace, faith, human nature, and our relationship with God. His Confessions remains one of the great spiritual classics of Christianity.

His life also reminds us that faith is a journey—one of searching, questioning, turning toward God, and discovering where our hearts truly belong.

“Our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” ❤️

Blessed Feast of St. Augustine!
