Happy Easter to All!

Our service today will not be Holy Cross Episcopal Church. If you are joining us this morning for Easter Sunday worship, our service will be at The Apple Barn on Highway 194 toward Banner Elk. If you are coming from Valle Crucis, it will be on the right in a big curve about 1-1.5 miles on the right.

Turn off of 194 and either turn left in the gate and drive across the grass or go on the dirt road around the small white house and turn left in the first gravel driveway.

Our service begins at 9:00 and we would love to have you with us today!

Feeling a need to act with abundant caution, we decided to cancel our Sunday Service again today, February 8, 2026. Many of our congregation live at higher elevations near Banner Elk and weren't feeling positive about going out earlier this morning. Hopefully we will be back in person next Sunday. So for today, here is our online Sunday Worship service

Things at our church are moving along nicely. The outside is covered—-so no visible holes from the lifting, and we now have sub-flooring completed throughout the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary. The electricians have started their work with wiring of the outlets and light switches and installing the new power boxes. Plumbers are coming in this coming week. Heat and A/C company is giving us a quote to move forward. Work will start on the stage/pulpit area too.

It is starting to look the magnificent church it once was. Every day is one step closer!

our church has been lowered back down in its new foundation! Now renovation on the inside of the building can begin. Every day is one day closer to a fully repaired and renovated Valle Crucis UMC.

It is so great to see progress moving along on our church. It was lifted four feet off the foundation several weeks ago and things are moving along. These pics are from Thursday, August 21st. The new additional foundation blocks under the 1989 addition are almost complete while new framing and bands are going up around the Sanctuary foundation. We are so grateful for the hard and awesome work of our contractor, Roy Hamby Construction and the sub-contracted masonry company. Thank you all for all the hard work!

Here is just one of many examples of the importance and blessing of the UMC connection:

Millers Creek UMC donated tons of PA equipment today for our church to use when we rebuild our church. Three mixers, four PA speakers, umpteen mic and instruments stands, two power amps, a power conditioner, equalizer, DVD/CD and tape players, wireless mic systems and wireless mics, cables and cords and some things I am not even sure what they are! All things we will use for our refurbished church and future ministries. What we can’t use will be given forward to churches and those who need such items.

Our UMC connection has been a vital lifeblood for our church. UMC churches from across the country have sent us donations. Locally, other Pastors, congregations, Western NC Conference and Appalachian District staff and volunteers have been there for us as we rebuild from Hurricane Helene. No church is out there on their own ever. Helping hands and voices lifted in prayer surround us!

Words cannot express our gratitude to Pastor Bradley Lisk and the congregation of Millers Creek for this wonderful donation and a special thanks to our DS, Lory Beth Huffman who helped us connect and make it happen. All
of you are such blessings to Valle Crusic UMC (and me too)!

Hello Everyone!

We will be celebrating Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025 at OUR church at 9:00. Enter through the side door and take about 5 steps and go up the steps to the second floor. Turn left and follow the hallway to the big room. Yes, we will have electricity and indoor restrooms upstairs!

This will the first time we have worshipped in our church since last October! We are looking so forward to being in our church building again. Please take care coming in as it is a big mess, but it will be nice, warm and wonderful in The Upper Room!

We would love to have you join us for this celebration!
