Aztec Presbyterian Church - Church of the Pioneers

Aztec Presbyterian Church - Church of the Pioneers Worship is at 11:00 a.m. every Sunday The church was built soon after using adobe from the area, timber from Durango, and a bell donated by the D&RG Railroad.

Older than the state of New Mexico, the Aztec Presbyterian Church was organized in 1888 and officially chartered on February 3, 1889. In its early years the pulpit was filled by itinerant missionaries and the ladies of the church held weekly bake sales to pay for their services. There have been additions to the church over the years, the latest being a fellowship hall completed in 1990, but the sa

nctuary is still the adobe structure built in 1889. Aztec Presbyterian is indeed a “Church of the Pioneers.”
