The story doesn’t end in the darkness of Good Friday. We know what Sunday brings. The resurrection is coming—the victory over sin and death, and the promise of eternal life for all who trust in Christ. Good Friday is not the end of the story. It is the turning point. What looked like defeat became the doorway to redemption!

Please join us as we celebrate Christ’s defeat over sin and death at our Easter worship services.

Please join us this evening, 6:00 pm, for our Good Friday Communion Service as we commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Christians call it “good” not because it was painless or pleasant, but because Jesus’ suffering and death accomplished God’s plan of salvation and made forgiveness possible for all who trust in Him.

The story begins with the Lord and His friends. Jesus is across the Jordan, about twenty-five miles from Bethany, where His friends Martha, Mary, and Lazarus live. Lazarus was very sick. The sisters send word to Jesus, “he whom you love is sick.”

Hope candle

Today we light the hope candle. As we look forward to Christ’s coming again, and remember the time when he was born in the flesh, we remember those who prophesied the coming of the Messiah, the Savior of His people.

The prophets gave hope to those who waited for the first coming of Jesus, and give us the assurance of hope that God acts as he has promised. In this time we wait with certain hope.

Micah 5:2
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, Whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.
