We’re excited to host two engaging sessions designed to inform, connect, and empower our community, see the schedule below for details on the day’s events:
• Session 1: Why Does Cancer Spread: Cancer Metastasis, with Dr. Eric Rahrmann: Cancer metastasis, the spread of cancer cells from a primary tumor to other organs, causes most cancer-related deaths. Dr. Eric Rahrmann, assistant professor at the Hormel Institute, The University of Minnesota, studies how and why cancer spreads, to find new ways to stop it. Recently featured in the media, he also organized the Minnesota Metastasis Research Network (MnMet), bringing together local scientists to collaborate on breakthrough metastasis research. Join us at Continuing Education Day at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM, to learn about the science behind stopping cancer’s spread!
• Coffee Break & Discussion, Between sessions (10:00 AM–10:30 AM), a coffee break will offer time to relax, recharge, and connect with others while enjoying refreshments and engaging in informal discussions before the next session.
• Session 2: Downsizing & Saving Money on a Move, informational session led by Jonah Van Proosdy: Planning a move can be overwhelming, but the right preparation makes all the difference. Downsizing & Saving Money on a Move, led by general manager of A Smooth Move, Jonah Van Proosdy, will guide attendees through the key things to consider when planning a move from their home. Join this helpful one-hour session from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM to learn practical tips that can make your move simpler, smoother, and less stressful.
