Parables Series

🔥 ONE ON ONE 🔥

Summer is here, so tonight kicks off our new series!

Over the next two months, we're going to look at some of the most personal encounters people had with God in Scripture. A woman caught in sin. A prophet who thought he was alone. A religious leader with questions. A woman reaching through a crowd for Jesus.

Again and again, God shows us: He meets people personally, AND He doesn't leave them the way He found them.

Tonight we get to talk about one of my favorites, and I hope everyone leaves having experienced this lesson first-hand. I can't wait to see you all tonight! Looking forward to the games we'll play, the time we'll spend getting to know each other, and the lessons we'll learn.

Come expecting. Meet with God. Leave changed.

See you tonight,

THAT'S A WRAP ON OUR PARABLES SERIES!

Y'all, I think this has been my favorite time with you yet! We've had so much fun together, and I had just as much fun editing these videos and remembering all the laughs.

But it has also been amazing opening God's Word together and seeing how Jesus taught people about the Kingdom of God!

Thank you all for making this the best place to be week after week!

We love y'all and can't wait to see you tomorrow for our NEW SERIES: ONE ON ONE!!!

🔥 ONE ON ONE — Week 1 🔥
WEDNESDAY @ 6PM

Sometimes God shows up in the most unexpected place at the most unexpected time. Moses had spent forty years in Egypt, and forty years in the wilderness. Both probably felt like a lifetime, and by that point, he likely wasn't expecting much to change.

And that's when God showed up.

It wasn't on a special date. It wasn't when Moses spent the week in prayer and worship. Moses was just out tending sheep like every other day. He was hot, dirty, sweaty, working, and smelling like sheep, and that's where God chose to meet with him.

Isn't it amazing how God can show up when you've accepted life as you've come to know it?

This week we're opening Exodus 3 and talking about a bush that's on fire but won't burn up. God shows up for His people, sometimes when we least expect Him. How would you respond coming face to face with the Creator in the middle of an ordinary day?

Jimmy will be bringing the message.

THIRD ANNUAL BEAN COOK-OFF

Last year didn’t exactly go as planned.

One dish was SO good it won both prizes... or maybe it was because we only had one entry. 😅 Either way, we’re hoping this competition blows last year out of the water.

Bean & Bacon Days is always packed with things to do, but this is your chance to show off your skills without getting into the bean sauce. Plus, there's a chance to win cash prizes and the rest goes to a good cause. Anybody can make a bean dish, but who makes The Supreme Bean?

This year TWO people will walk away as Certified Bean Legends:
🏆 Judge’s Choice Winner
🏆 Popular Vote Winner

Half of all entry money will go toward helping students get to camp and convention.

Text “BEANS” to (715) 200-9200 to enter.

May the best beans win!

❤️‍🩹 PARABLES — Week 4 ❤️‍🩹
WEDNESDAY @ 6PM

This week we’re wrapping up our Parables series with a question:

“Who is my neighbor?”

You might have an answer right away, BUT there may be more to this question than meets the eye. Realistically, we all want kindness when we’re hurting. But are we the kind of people who show up for others? How do we treat people? How about the people we’d rather avoid, overlook, judge, or keep at a distance?

Jesus shows us what love actually looks like. It costs us something.

We’re opening Luke 10 this Wednesday and getting into one of the most well-known parables Jesus ever told.

Mr. Aaron will be bringing the message.

🐫 PARABLES — Week 3 🐫
WEDNESDAY @ 6PM

Everybody knows the pattern:
SHEEP... TALENTS... FORGIVENESS.

Okay, I made that up, but it’s how our series is moving forward this week. When Jesus tells this parable about forgiveness, it isn’t just nice churchy talk or ✨Christian aesthetic✨. He shows forgiveness for real.

It sounds really nice until somebody actually hurts you.

We all like the sound of the forgiveness Jesus gives us through His sacrifice on the cross, but what about when forgiveness costs you something? What about when it hurts? When it’s messy? When it just isn’t fair?

The hard truth is that forgiveness isn’t fair. But forgiveness also isn’t pretending that what happened to you was okay.

It might be one of those things that’s easier said than done, but let’s get into the Word and talk about it this Wednesday.

What’s something you need to forgive someone for?

We’re opening Matthew 18 this Wednesday and getting into what Jesus had to say about forgiveness, bitterness, and mercy.

Mr. Zack will be bringing the message.

🐪 PARABLES — Week 2 🐪
WEDNESDAY @ 6PM

This month is alllll about Parables. Last week we learned a little about lost sheep and a whole lot about lost people.

This week is about TALENT.

* Tell us your hidden talent in the comments. *

Talent might mean something different now than it did in Jesus’ day, and although there’s a LOT we can learn from Jesus in this parable, we’re going to get into the simple truth about what it tells us about God and His kingdom.

This lesson is going to be a good one and it’ll really pay off to be here for it! Looking forward to learning about this mind-blowingly simple truth with you.

🐑 PARABLES 1 🐑
This Wednesday @ 6PM

Have you ever looked into how Jesus chose to teach publicly?

He told stories called parables; they are a lot like analogies. These are simple stories packed with layers and layers of depth. It’s honestly mind-blowing how much you can get out of them.

This week we’re starting with a picture of a lost sheep. Believe it or not, this story tells us a lot about ourselves, and it tells us about who God is too.

Find that hard to believe?

Come look into it with us Wednesday! We’re going to open Luke 15 and look at what it means to be in need of a rescue, and why that matters more than most people realize.

Jimmy will be bringing the message.
