This Matters: Vision For The Future

09/05/2026

Discernment and holiness are not about judgment or destruction—they’re about refinement. 🔥

Like a refiner’s fire, God’s presence removes what doesn’t belong, not to destroy what is valuable, but to reveal its true worth.

Holiness calls us toward purity so that we can stand before God without fear. He burns away the impurities, not our identity.

The fire isn’t meant to destroy you. It’s meant to refine you. ✨

“ For He is like a refiner’s fire.” — Malachi 3:2

Before you respond to a situation, ask God: “What do You want me to do with this?”

Sometimes He will tell you to speak.
Sometimes He will tell you to correct.
Sometimes He will tell you to pray.
And sometimes, He will tell you to walk away.

Not every situation requires a response from you—sometimes obedience looks like silence, distance, or simply refusing to participate in what doesn’t honor God.

Seek His will before making your move. Let His Word guide your response. 🙏✨

What an incredible Sunday at Augusta Church!

Pastor Beth brought a powerful word on the gift of discernment and holiness, and the presence of God was so evident throughout the entire service.

From worship to the Word, there was such a strong sense that God was calling His people deeper—deeper in holiness, deeper in sensitivity to His voice, and deeper in the ability to recognize what is truly from Him.

The message challenged us, encouraged us, and reminded us just how important discernment is in a world filled with competing voices.

We are so thankful for what God is doing in our church right now. Sundays like this remind us that church is about more than simply gathering—it is about encountering God, being transformed by His presence, and leaving different than we came.

If you missed it, go back and watch. This was a powerful service!

Mature discernment isn’t about becoming an expert at spotting what’s wrong—it’s about becoming deeply familiar with what is right: God.

The more we know His character, His voice, His peace, His conviction, and His presence, the less we have to obsess over counterfeits.

Discernment isn’t meant to make us suspicious, bitter, or isolated. It’s meant to draw us closer to God, recognize His presence, walk in His peace, and help build others up in holiness.

You don’t need to know every counterfeit when you intimately know the real.

So maybe the better question isn’t, “How discerning am I?”
It’s, “How well do I know Him?”

This wasn’t just a weekend away. This was men getting before God, sharpening one another, building brotherhood, and being challenged to become the husbands, fathers, leaders, and men of God we were created to be.
There is something powerful that happens when men get out of the noise, get around other godly men, and seek Jesus together.
🔥 Brotherhood
🔥 Worship
🔥 The Word
🔥 Challenge
🔥 Laughter
🔥 Men becoming stronger in Christ
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13 ESV
The Church doesn’t need passive men. Our families don’t need passive men. This generation needs men who will stand firm, lead with courage, love sacrificially, and follow Jesus without compromise.
This was our Men’s Retreat. And we’re just getting started.
