For the last 6 weeks we have literally been on the “same page”. Page by page we have listened to God speak through His written Word and the accompanying devotions from Next Steps Guide For Churches and Next Steps Guide For Individuals. Also, God has used His servant, Dr. John Bryan, to speak to us in six consecutive worship services. We have watched God work in readying our hearts and minds to what He is about to do and that is to show us that “Better Together” is much more than a positive snd encouraging statement but a fact that will be realized as we become a vital part of the Warren Hillcrest ministry for the glory of God. Thank you for reading today’s devotion about being engaged in the worship, witness, and work of our wonderful Savior. - Pastor Tony

Today, Friday, October 23, devotion marks the next to the last devotion in our Next Steps Guide For Individuals book. Today we are reminded, from Colossians 3:17, that what God is doing IN us is more important than what God is doing WITH us. Therefore, it is better to please God than to please man.

In a day and time when people don’t want to get involved we, as followers of Christ are called and commissioned to do just that. In the process of being involved we help and bless others in the work of God and we too are aided and encouraged in the work of God. Today (Thursday, October 22) we learn in the Next Step Guide For Individuals’ devotion that there are no “Lone Ranger” Christians. We really need each other in the work of God.

Matthew 21:6 is the scripture for today’s (Wednesday, October 21) Next Step Guide For Individuals devotion. The emphasis is about being teachable with a complete willingness to apply God’s instruction to our daily to do list. Good Reminder.

Today (Monday, October 19) marks day 2 of week 2 in our devotional guide Next Steps Guide For Individuals. This week we are learning about “how do we go from here?” Today we are reminded to be what we should already be by now and that is “expectant”. Based on I Corinthians 8:5, we know that we can trust God to bring results as we serve Him. Today we anticipate the many things He has in store for us in future days.

Today’s (October 17) Next Guide For Individuals devotion is all about Isaiah 55:13 which is God’s “green light” verse on our Jesus journey in life. When the traffic light turns green we press the accelerator or we won’t go anywhere and we will block others on the road as well. In life the thing that is most difficult is change but just idling at a standstill is difficult too. Let’s embrace the green light for our good and the good of others and the glory of God.

Today’s, Friday, October 16, Next Step Guide For Individuals devotion, It’s Time To Pause, reminds us that waiting on the Lord when He wants us to patiently wait, is not actually an absence of action, but an action of anticipation and faith. Read Psalm 27:14 and let’s look forward to what God has for us just ahead.

I can’t help but think of the Nike advertisement “Just Do It” when I read the devotional scripture for today - James 1:22. As we ready our minds and hearts for new ministry as Warren Hillcrest it begs the question, “How can God use me in a revitalized and renewed mission and ministry?” With a willingness to Just Do It, God will show you where to participate. Enjoy day 4 of week 1 in the Next Steps Guide For Individuals book.
