High Hill has had a busy couple of weekends with Easter celebrations this weekend and 5th Sunday meetings at our sister church, Shady Grove, last weekend. Shady Grove was an excellent host, and we are so thankful for them. We are very proud of our quiz participants for their dedication to Bible study. We are also glad the youth enjoyed the Easter activities today!
It was a beautiful day to celebrate our Risen Saviour!

* The only righteousness we can possess is the righteousness of Jesus; He shares His righteousness with those who love and seek Him.

Last week, the youth at High Hill enjoyed their very own, nature-made ice rink in the church parking lot.
While we can't offer an ice rink this Sunday, we would still love to have you join us tomorrow! Sunday school starts at 10am.

The word "beatitudes" comes from the Latin word meaning "blessing".
The beatitudes describe what it means to be Christ's follower.
The beatitudes contrast kingdom values with worldly values.
The beatitudes show Christ's followers what they can expect from the world.
The beatitudes contrast fake piety with humility.
The beatitudes highlight some of God's promises.

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:1-5

Some promises come with effort from us:
Trust in the Lord and God promises provision.
Delight in the Lord and God promises to answer your prayers.

To have all these good things from the Lord, we must be committed to Him. A person committed to the Lord trusts in God's provision, doesn't desire sin, wants and prays for things that line up with the Word of God and His will, and seeks to know the Lord more in intimate relationship with Him.

What are you committed to?
Do you need to start anew and recommit to the Lord?

What are you facing today?
Do you believe God will help you?
Do you trust God to help you?
Are you following His commands and staying in fellowship with Him?

Don't ever forget that, as followers of Jesus Christ, the Risen Savior, the victory is already won!

The children of Israel made commitments to God with their mouths and not with their hearts. Their repentance was empty.
Talk is cheap. God wants our behavior to back up our words.
