“Sodom, which had no Bible, no preachers, no tracts, no prayer meetings, no churches, perished. How then will America and England be spared from the wrath of the Almighty, think you? We have millions of Bibles, scores of thousands of churches, endless preachers'and yet what sin!”

15 When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship before the LORD. Then he returned to the Israelite camp and shouted, “Get up! For the LORD has given you victory over the Midianite hordes!” 16 He divided the 300 men into three groups and gave each man a ram’s horn and a clay jar with a torch in it. 17 Then he said to them, “Keep your eyes on me. When I come to the edge of the camp, do just as I do. 18 As soon as I and those with me blow the rams’ horns, blow your horns, too, all around the entire camp, and shout, ‘For the LORD and for Gideon!’ ” 19 It was just after midnight, after the changing of the guard, when Gideon and the 100 men with him reached the edge of the Midianite camp. Suddenly, they blew the rams’ horns and broke their clay jars. 20 Then all three groups blew their horns and broke their jars. They held the blazing torches in their left hands and the horns in their right hands, and they all shouted, “A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!” 21 Each man stood at his position around the camp and watched as all the Midianites rushed around in a panic, shouting as they ran to escape. 22 When the 300 Israelites blew their rams’ horns, the LORD caused the warriors in the camp to fight against each other with their swords. Judges 7: 15-22 --------------------- The good ole story of Gideon and his 300, what an encouragement it is. When the odds are not in your favor, remember, they are always in the Lord’s favor. With instructions and encouragement from the Lord, each man was armed with a clay pot, a ram’s horn, and a torch. Without putting so much as a finger on the enemy in the camp, the enemy was defeated. After all was said and done, no one could deny that God was the one who was worthy of praise for the victory. God called Gideon a man of mighty valor. Not because he had great physical strength, but because God had his back. God: believe Him, trust Him, obey Him. Be victorious in Him. Kirk

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:13-15 --------------- For many years I rejected God’s calling on me to be a minister of the gospel, and sort of like Jonah, I ran the other way and found myself in the belly of the whale. I was sure that what I had to offer was not something God could use, beside there was nothing special about my life. But the Lord continually reminded me from his Word that it was not my strength he needed, but by His power and grace, He could use me and my small life for His glory. ------- “9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in znecessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Cor. 12:9-10” ------ I would not live in peace with it until I finally said, “yes Lord take me and use me as you see fit.” Since then, I have seen many people come to trust in the Lord Jesus for their salvation, and I am glad just to be a part of His great plan. But long before I could accept the call into the ministry, I had to accept the Lord Jesus as my Savor, Lord and King. After years of living for myself and in rebellion against Him, just like the prodigal son, I found myself far away from God and then I returned to Him and called upon Him and hallelujah He saved me. What is Lord asking you to do?----Kirk Lavender
