First Hopkinton Seventh Day Baptist

First Hopkinton Seventh Day Baptist We are followers of Jesus who study God’s word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We observe the seventh-day Sabbath for rest and worship.

We seek to share Christ’s message of salvation through personal witness and service. We meet at 8 Church Street in Ashaway on Fridays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 11 a.m. We also hold Sabbath School classes, similar to Sunday

Today’s the day!

We’re gathering this morning at 11:00 (9:45 for Sabbath School!) and would love for you to be there.

What do you do when you’ve messed up… badly?

David wasn’t just a hero—he was also someone who failed in big ways.
And yet, he didn’t run from God. He returned to Him.

Instead of hiding, David prayed honestly:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God.”

Your past doesn’t disqualify your future.

God isn’t looking for perfection—He’s looking for a heart that turns back to Him.

📖 “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” — Psalm 51:10

No matter where you’ve been…
You can start again.

What is the Gospel? In church we use that word all the time, but what is it? In this video, Pastor Gabe provides a brief answer to this big question. The Good News of Jesus Christ will change your whole life and eternity. It’s something we should think about and give thanks for every single day.

John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

How has the Gospel changed your life? Let’s fill the comments with testimonies of God’s love for us!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice reminds us of the cost of freedom—and of the greatest sacrifice ever made for us.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Today, we remember with gratitude, pray for grieving families, and give thanks for both earthly freedoms and the eternal hope we have in Christ.

When we feel tired or uncertain, God invites us to wait on Him. He renews, restores, and lifts us up again.

This week’s message by Pastor Ken Burdick invited us to consider why remembrance matters—and why Memorial Day gives us an opportunity not only to honor sacrifice, but to reflect with gratitude.

During the service, we also remembered members of First Hopkinton Seventh Day Baptist Church who served in times of conflict and are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, connecting the broader story of sacrifice with our own church family’s history.
