JUNE 12 – IMPORTANT CELEBRATE RECOVERY UPDATE – PLEASE SHARE!

We just found out that our friends, Roy and Deidra, will be visiting HUMCO this weekend!

That’s good news—but here’s the great news: Roy is ready and willing to share his testimony with us tomorrow night.

Roy and Deidra are Ministry Leaders for Bayside Adventure Celebrate Recovery in Roseville, CA. Together, they testify to God’s power to transform lives, redeem marriages, and restore families for His glory.

Come hungry. Come as you are. There is hope!

Have you ever caught yourself saying familiar words without really thinking about them?

We sing the songs, recite the prayers, and quote Scripture from memory—but sometimes the words roll off our tongues before they reach our hearts.

The same thing can happen with the Apostles’ Creed.

Many of us have said the words countless times:

“I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth…”

But one line can stop us in our tracks when we really pause to consider it:

“He descended into hell.”

What does that mean? And why does it matter?

Join us this Sunday as Pastor Gayle continues answering our questions by unpacking The Apostles’ Creed: A Blueprint of Grace.

Jesus' first disciples had questions. Some they asked out loud; others they discussed among themselves.

Often, Jesus asked questions in response to people’s questions, leading them to think more deeply about God and life.

Bible scholars say that Jesus asked roughly 307 questions in the Gospels and was asked 183 questions.

Asking questions is essential to growth.

Disciples of Jesus still have questions today, and the church should be the safest place to ask them.

If you have questions about God, the Bible, life, death, faith, doubt, and everything in between, you belong here!

How do you know if you’re deceived?
You usually don’t. That’s what makes denial so dangerous.

Denial often sounds like:
“It’s not that bad.”
“I can quit anytime I want.”
“They didn’t mean to hurt me.”
“I’ll pay off my debt when…”
"It's not gossip if it's the truth."
"Everyone else does it."
"At least I'm not as bad as _______."

If statements like these sound familiar, Lesson 1: Denial is for you.

Step into the truth, break through the excuses, and begin the journey toward freedom.
