SEPTEMBER is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows.
What is the 7 Sorrows Rosary?
The Seven Sorrows Rosary (or Chaplet) originated in the 13th century with the Servite Order, focusing on meditating on the emotional pains Mary endured during Jesus's life and passion. It was popularized by St. Bridget of Sweden and consists of 7 sets of 7 Hail Marys, each dedicated to a specific sorrow.
The devotion was highlighted during the apparitions at Kibeho in 1982, where it was associated with finding the strength to repent and obtaining graces.
Although it is Mary's Sorrows, it is still centered around Christ's life and passion.
The Seven Sorrows:
1) Prophecy of Simeon
2) Flight into Egypt
3) Loss of Jesus in the Temple
4) Meeting Jesus on the Way to Calvary
5) The Crucifixion
6) The Piercing of Jesus's Side/Taking down from the Cross
7) The Burial
Promises:
St. Bridget of Sweden reported that Our Lady promised seven graces to those who daily meditate on her sorrows:
1. I will grant peace to their families.
2. They will be enlightened about the divine Mysteries.
3. I will console them in their pains and will accompany
them in their work.
4. I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it
does not oppose the adorable will of my divine Son
or the sanctification of their souls.
5. I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the
infernal enemy and I will protect them at every
instant of their lives.
6. I will visibly help them at the moment of their death - they will see the face of their mother.
7. I have obtained this grace from my divine Son: that
those who propagate this devotion to my tears and
sorrows will be taken directly from this earthly life to
eternal happiness, since all their sins will be forgiven
and my Son will be their eternal consolation and joy
How to pray the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows:

Sorrowful Mother (on the three final beads).

O Sorrowful Mother,
by the pain you endured in the Seven Sorrows,
obtain for us the grace to suffer with love,
to trust in God during trials,
and to remain faithful as you did at the foot of the Cross.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
