This week SC Kids went back to the very beginning.

God gave Adam and Eve a beautiful garden and one rule. Don't eat from one tree. A sneaky snake lied to them, and they ate the fruit anyway.

That was the first sin. Sin is choosing our way instead of God's way. We all do it sometimes.

But does God still love us when we mess up? YES! Romans 5:8 says God loved us before we ever got anything right.

God loves me no matter what!

Talk about it this week:
God told Adam and Eve not to eat from 1 tree! Did they listen?
Who tempted Adam and Eve to sin by lying to them?
What is sin and why do you think we sin?
Does God love us even when we sin?

Sometimes “I’m waiting on a peace” is just a nicer way to say “I’m scared.”

Nobody in Scripture waited to feel ready. They just went.

Tomorrow, somebody walks into that water still a little scared.

And walks out anyway.

You don't get ready and then step. You step, and that's how you find out you were ready.

If you've said yes to Jesus and haven't been baptized, tomorrow is your next step. If you've already taken it, come ready to cheer somebody through theirs.

Be honest. Where are you right now?

Thriving. Maintaining. Struggling. Barely hanging on.

Nobody's walk with Jesus is a straight line. Some of you said yes years ago and you're still going. Some of you said yes and got baptized before you really understood what it meant. Some of you said yes and stopped there.

Wherever you landed, you're not behind. You're here. And here is a fine place to take a step from.

Most people who haven't been baptized aren't unsure about Jesus.

They're unsure about themselves.

Afraid of what people will think. Carrying something from the past that still feels too loud. Worried they'll mess it up again next month. Or just not feeling ready.

If any of that is you, you're not disqualified. You're honest. And honest is exactly where this starts.

The chapter you're in isn't the last one.
