We held a dedication for Faith Community Garden today 🙏
Dedication Prayer for Faith Community Garden
"Everything was created through him and for him.
He existed before anything else,
and he holds all creation together."
Colossians 1:16b-17
This is your garden, Creator God
a thing of beauty
beyond understanding,
a poem that is being written
not in words,
but in colors,
wind's whisper,
soaring bird,
snowdrop's petal,
gentle rain,
sunlight's warmth.
This is your garden, Creator God,
a thing of beauty
beyond understanding.
We thank you, Lord,
for hands that dug this soil,
for hearts that dreamed this dream,
for every gift of time,
every gift of skill,
every gift of resource,
every gift of support,
poured out here in love
long before the first seed fell.
And we thank you, Lord,
for hands not yet known to us,
for hearts not yet turned this way,
for all who in the years to come
will give their time,
their skill,
their resources,
their support,
tending what has been planted,
carrying this garden forward
into seasons we cannot yet see.
We pray, Creator God,
that this ground will be a place of rest,
that these rows and paths
will hold your peace
for all who wander in,
weary or wondering,
grieving or grateful,
for years and years to come.
Bless this garden.
Bless all who tend it.
Bless all who rest in it.
