Weekend Minder - May 29

Dear church family and friends of TBC,

Another Sunday is quickly approaching and such days are the highlight of my week! This Sunday will feature our 5th Sunday Schedule... so that means normal Sunday School and morning service, but then a potluck lunch and short afternoon service. In the morning service, I will preach from 1 Thessalonians 4 on "Comfort Care-Part 1." Following lunch for all, there will be a service on hymn favorites and testimonies. I would love to hear from you about an answered prayer, something God has been teaching you, or a way you have seen Him work. I will also be presenting information about the "Family Day" being planned for August 30th.

Will you pray for our Sunday Services?
Will you make every effort to attend?
Will you seek to prepare your heart to meet with the living God?
Will you humble yourself in those areas God wants to work on you about?
Will you seek to tell just 1 person about the ministry of TBC and invite them?

- 6/20 Men's "Steak" Breakfast 8am

- 6/28 Knipes, our missionaries to South Africa, will be our guests. We will treat that day as a 5th Sunday - soup & sandwiches lunch!

- Volleyball and snow cone nights will start up in June! Come, play, watch, fellowship, laugh!

TBC Weekend Minder - May 22nd

Dear church family and friends,

What a big step back after several hot days; I don't mind the rain or the cooler temps! Thanks for those who are asking about and concerned for my grandmother, Fran Field. She is in the hospital and is on comfort care. We are trusting her times to the will of God.

The purpose of these Friday notes is to connect with each other to provide a kind of preview on the upcoming Sunday together, to encourage you to prepare for the time together, and to help you know how to pray.

As we look ahead to Sunday, be sure to come out for Sunday School at 9:45. I appreciate each of our teachers who plan, prepare, and teach. In the morning service, I will preach from 2 Timothy 2 on "As a Good Soldier of Jesus Christ."

At 5pm there will be a Memorial Day Eve picnic for all. The meat and drinks will be provided; if you can bring a side and/or dessert to share that would be great. We will have the food inside and you can eat inside or outside. There will be time to fellowship and to play around outside in the yard. Feel free to invite others; if you know someone is coming let me know so I can cook the right amount of food.

TBC Weekend Minder - May 15th

Good afternoon church family and friends of TBC,

How has your week been so far? How have you seen God at work in you and around you?

As we look ahead to Sunday, we will start things off with Sunday School at 9:45, then in the morning service at 11 I will preach from Ecclesiastes 10 on "Flies, Folly, and Foulness." Don't forget about our evening gathering. I am going to tweek things up a little with a time I am calling "Praise, Prayer, and Petition."

Other notes:
- 5/20 Youth Group 7-9pm

- 5/24 Memorial Day Eve Picnic at the church 5pm; sign up to bring something. The meats and drinks will be provided. The list is very light right now, but hopefully that changes soon!

- 5/31 5th Sunday schedule; sign up to bring something for the potluck lunch

Have a wonderful evening! Take some time and commit the ministry of TBC to the Lord and pray for new connections and folks to join.

Weekend Minder - May 9th

Good morning church family and friends of TBC,

I apologize for sending this later (usually Fridays) than usual, but here is the latest edition of Truth Bible's "Weekend Minder." BTW, thank you for your prayers for our daughter, Anna arrived home safely from BJU yesterday afternoon. We are so glad for her safe arrival, completion of her freshman year, and a summer with her. We got a great Sunday planned for tomorrow and I hope you will come!

For the morning service tomorrow on Mother's Day, I will preach on "Honoring Every Woman in the Church." We will also have a short video clip appropriate for Mother's Day and special music to lift our hearts to the Lord.

For the evening service, we will have hymn favorites, testimonies, and a short Bible message from Josh Field. You won't want to miss this service.

May 20th 7-9 - Youth Group

May 24th @ 5pm - Memorial Day Eve Picnic on the grounds; the meat and drinks will be provided. Let us know if you can bring a side dish and/or dessert.

May 31st - 5th Sunday Schedule; we need your help with the potluck lunch that day.

TBC Weekend Minder - May 1st

Good morning church family and friends,

Look outside and go outside for some vitamin D today if possible. I have to send this communication out earlier than usual as today is Jr. High Academic Day at my kids school. I worked with Josh on preaching and he is competing in a few other categories and Dawn is the Bible Quizzing coach as well.

With Sunday approaching, I like to use this note to give a short preview on the day at TBC of Alloway. Please share this, please pray, and please come! In the morning service, there will be special music by Benjamin Field, the Lord's Table, and I will bring a message called "Aren't All Religions the Same?" I hope you know where I stand, TBC stands, and the Bible stands on that question, but come and be reminded and challenged from the Bible that our faith rests on the finished work of our blessed Savior Jesus Christ.

In the evening service, we will sing together, have testimonies, and I will bring a message from James 5 on "Be Honest."

Weekend Minder - April 24th

Good afternoon church family and friends,

Don't forget about our church workday (rain or shine) tomorrow from 9-12. Lunch will be provided. There are many projects to tackle for those of all ages. Come for 1 hour or stay the entire time.

It has been busy but good to be home after our SC trip. I am greatly looking forward to our Sunday services and I hope you share the burden and excitement!

In our morning service, we will have special music by Andrew Field and I will bring a message on "Hands, Feet, and Mouth for the Savior." And make sure you come out at 6 for our evening service. I will continue our study of the letter of James with a message from James 5 on "Be Patient, the Lord Is Coming Soon."

TBC Weekend Minder - April 10th

Dear church family and friends of TBC,

Good morning to you on this lovely Friday! Looks to be a beautiful spring day.

Sunday is quickly approaching and many plans are in place for a blessed day of services at Truth Bible! We will welcome Pastor Terry Smith to TBC as our speaker for the morning service. He is no stranger to us; you will benefit from his presence and preaching. Josh Yohe will also be teaching the adult Sunday School class and bringing the message for the evening service. Make every effort to come out morning and evening on Sunday! Some of you will remember the Blushtein family; one of the young ladies will be playing the piano for us as well as providing special music.

- 4/25 Workday at church 9-12; we need you! Sign up so we can plan the lunch accordingly.

TBC Weekend Minder - April 3

Dear church family and friends of TBC,

I hope this weekly email finds you well. I have heard of a good bit of sickness out there- so please join me in prayers for those on the mend. With Easter Sunday coming up, I would love to have a full house!

This Sunday (4/5) is Resurrection Sunday and I hope you will join us. We will begin with a 10am continental breakfast and then our 11am morning service. We will have a few special music pieces and I will bring a message on "Resurrection Witnesses." There will not be an evening service on Sunday!

* We have a cookie maker that has made Easter cookies for us to take home after the service as a gift.

Please invite others to join you this Sunday! And join me in praying for God to be glorified as we worship our risen Savior together.

TBC Weekend Minder - March 27

Dear church family and friends of TBC,

Good afternoon! I hope you have had a wonderful week and are looking forward to the weekend.

As we look ahead to our Sunday services, we will welcome Pastor Tobe and Amy Witmer as our guests for the day. The Witmers are the founders and directors of Safe Helps Group. You can learn more here. We will have a 5th Sunday schedule - 9:45 Sunday School, 11 morning service, 12:15 Potluck lunch, and 1:15 afternoon service. I want to strongly encourage you to come for the entire time. Pastor Witmer will be opening the Word of God in all 3 services and will even do a Q&A in the afternoon. Come, come hungry to learn and grow, and pray for God to really bless our time together and around the Word of God.

* Please note that an extra offering will be received as a love offering for the Witmers. This can be found in the foyer area!

4/5 Easter Sunday; 10am continental breakfast for all followed by 11am service
