History

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church began as a mission sister congregation of Zion Lutheran Church in the summer of 1982. Our first congregation was small in numbers, approximately 30 members, lacking worship space and a pastor.

Our founding faithful wasted no time in getting started on the new construction project. Groundbreaking was held on June 8, 1984 and the new church was dedicated on June 2, 1985.

At this time, our name was changed from Zion Chapel to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
