Your words carry influence. The way you live carries influence.

You have more impact than you realize—in your family, at school, at work, and in the lives of those God has placed around you.

So, what is God calling you to do with the influence He has given you?
He’s called us to live fully for Him—to be a living sacrifice, full of faith, not fear. To speak truth, not lies. To stand firm in our convictions and boldly live out our faith.

You may not always see the impact your words, choices, and example are making, but someone is watching. Someone is listening. Your life may be the very example someone needs to see what it looks like to live fully surrendered to Jesus.

Don’t underestimate what God can do through a life that is fully His.

Steward your influence well. Live for Him. Let your life point others to Jesus.

What feels bigger than God in your life right now?

Today, Pastor Trevor challenged us to remember that the giants may be real, but they are not bigger than God.

Joshua and Caleb saw the same giants everyone else saw. The difference was how they chose to see them. They remembered God’s faithfulness. They trusted His promises. They refused to let fear have the final word.

Maybe you’re facing something right now that feels overwhelming—a diagnosis, financial pressure, a broken relationship, an uncertain future, or a season where you simply don’t know what comes next.

Don’t let what you see become bigger than what you know about God.

Remember what He has already done. Remember His faithfulness. Let His Word and His promises shape the way you see what’s in front of you.

Psalm 112 says, “He is not afraid of bad news. His heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.”
The giants are real. But God is greater.

Maybe you’ve been carrying something no one else knows about.

You’ve tried to hide it. You’ve tried to fix it. You’ve told yourself you’ll deal with it someday.

But you know the weight of it.

It sits on your shoulders. It nags at you. It steals your joy. And the longer you hide it, the heavier it becomes.

Fear tells you to stay in the dark.
Shame tells you to keep it to yourself.

But Jesus invites you into something different.

You can come to Him and simply say, “Jesus, I can’t fix me. Only You can.”
And when you bring what you’ve been hiding into the light, you find that you’re not met with condemnation—you’re met with grace.

He washes you white as snow.
He restores the joy of your salvation.
He breaks the chains that have held you.
He sets you free.

What you’ve been hiding doesn’t have to keep controlling you.

There is healing in bringing it into the light.
There is freedom in confession.
And when you stop hiding, the darkness loses its power.

You don’t have to carry it alone anymore.
Bring it to Jesus. Walk in freedom.

Today, Pastor Trevor concluded our study through the book of James, reminding us what can happen when God’s people stop hiding and start walking in the light.

We’re called to be a people who pray, confess, and reach others. Whether we’re walking through suffering or experiencing joy, every season gives us an opportunity to draw near to God and trust Him.

Confession brings what is hidden into the light. Sin and shame grow in darkness, but Christ offers forgiveness, healing, and freedom. God isn’t looking for a church that pretends to have it all together, but a people who are willing to be honest about what they’re facing and bring it to Him.

And as we draw closer to God, we can’t lose sight of those who are still far from Him. There are people who are wandering, hurting, and searching—and we have a part to play in helping them find their way back.

What if surrendering your plans to God looked a little different than we think?
Maybe it’s not bringing God your carefully written plans and simply asking Him to sign off on them.

Maybe it’s handing Him a blank page.

Saying, “Lord, You fill it in. Whatever You want. Wherever You lead, I’ll go.”

That can be hard because we like to know what’s next. We like to have a plan. We like to stay in control.

But true surrender says:
Your plans, not mine.
Your timing, not mine.
Your way, not mine.

What if the life God has for you is better than the one you’re trying so hard to plan for yourself?

A new school year is about to begin, and there’s something more important than what we put in their backpacks—let’s send them covered in prayer. 🤍

Our students and teachers are stepping into a season filled with new opportunities, challenges, friendships, and experiences. Join us August 30th as we come together to pray over them, asking God to guide them, protect them, and give them wisdom, courage, and peace for the year ahead.

And as the school year continues, let these serve as reminders to keep praying. Save them, share them, and come back to them throughout the year.

Today, Pastor Trevor continued through James and challenged us to look beyond what we want right now and learn to live with eternity in mind.

James gets straight to the point: the real battle isn’t always around us—it can be within us. Our desires compete for our attention and can pull us toward what feels good in the moment instead of what God knows is best.

Our strongest desires may pull us toward what is easy, comfortable, or satisfying in the moment—but our deepest desires should lead us toward integrity, obedience, honor, and a life that reflects Jesus.

The things this world offers can be like cotton candy—sweet for a moment, but with no lasting substance. Eternity gives us the bigger picture.

Real faith means trusting God enough to sign the bottom of the blank page and say, “Lord, You fill it in however You want.” It means drawing near to God, resisting the enemy, recognizing temptation for what it is, and choosing what we know is right over what feels good in the moment.

Our lives are short. Eternity is forever.
