First constructed to house the mules used for grading in the early days of the construction of the Aluminum Company of America, the barn was later converted into a City Hall. It was here that a Sunday School was organized and Calvary Baptist Church had its beginning. James A. Caylor as its first pastor. The lot on which the church is built was purchased from the Aluminum Company of America on Sept

ember 20, 1920. The present building is the only church building Calvary has ever owned and the church moved into the present building in the early part of October 1923.
