This is a live worship recording designed to provide an opportunity for members and friends of Hines Memorial CME Church, as well as those seeking to know more about salvation in Jesus Christ, to unite in worship and to grow in faith and in the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord.

Today is Trinity Sunday in the season of Pentecost. Today, we are reminded that we serve a God who exists as three Persons in One, each being distinct from the others in Personhood but all working together in love and unity as the only Divine God: Creator, Sustainer, and Savior. Today, being a fifth Sunday, is also Missionary Sunday, and we remember and celebrate the task and opportunities we have been given to participate in the work of salvation on behalf of God for the good of all humankind. We will have a guest messenger, Mrs. Gwendolyn Yarbrough, who will be introduced later in the service.

Our prayer is that you come to know the love of the risen and coming-again Christ of Nazareth, receiving and worshiping him as your Savior and Lord, and that you may experience the peace of the abundant life that is found only in the kingdom of God. Jesus came into this world that you might have life and have it more abundantly through him. May you know him as the God who remembers you and extends mercy to all who seek him, and may you receive strength for living through his grace. May God likewise bless you to be an agent of divine peace wherever you go.

Stay safe. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

Today is the Day of Pentecost. Today, we remember and celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the church for its establishment and work of witnessing in the world. Many call this the birthday of the church.

The message is titled, “Becoming the Church of God,” and is based in Acts 2:18, 21.

Today is not only a day of worship to the Most High God; it is also Mother’s Day. We celebrate God’s gifts of mothers and motherhood in every place. In your roles, you are special and blessed. May you be even further blessed to bring forth the message of God’s love to the world.

Today’s message is titled, “God is Like a Mother … and Then Some.” It is based primarily in John 14:15-21.
