Seventh-day Adventists are people of hope who are committed to promoting the Biblical message of quality of life for the present and the future. In keeping with that principle, Seventh-day Adventists believe the Bible teaches a weekly seventh-day Sabbath day of rest and worship and the promise of Christ's second coming or "Advent." Hence the name, Seventh-day Adventist. Our current pastor is Barry Taylor.

After a construction hiatus, the kitchen is back in full swing, so our RoundTable Fellowship resumed on Wednesday, May 27. A good group of church family members gathered to share some time, food and great conversation together. Per our usual, the food was excellent, and judging by the good conversation and laughter, it was probably well-digested as well.

Pathfinder Sabbath to end the year...well, there is the Pathfinder Fair still to come, but the Pathfinder Year is winding down. Sabbath, May 9, the Albany Pathfinders participated in the church services, leading out in singing, scripture, prayer, offering and special music. The youth and staff have worked hard to complete various requirements, and tokens and pins were awarded to each recipient. The club was joined by family and church members in presenting the special music

On Sabbath, April 11, our church family joyfully witnessed the baptism of Dave and Wendy, who had made the choice to fully give their hearts to Jesus. They had studied on their own, attended the recent Revelation presentations Pastor Scalfani conducted here in Albany, and he also had personal Bible studies with the couple. He was blessed to be able to baptize them into the Adventist church family. Please continue to pray for them as they continue to grow in Bible truth, and fall more and more in love with Jesus.

Sabbath, March 21 is part of our church history...and what a day it was! The devil was busy, but the Lord prevailed with His grace and mercy, according to HIS plan to bless our church family and many guests who were in attendance.

It began with hurried phone calls, alerting the church family to an accident which had happened, blocking the one entry road into town--the road on which both of our adult Sabbath School teachers, musicians and other members all journeyed to church. Our family members were stuck in the traffic jam created by the wreck, many emergency vehicles and one-way bridges!

Jeanie and Dan quickly led out in some pre-Sabbath School congregational singing, while Pastor Andre began preparing a impromptu general class discussion. Somewhere in the 2nd hymn, Darrell arrived and, after getting everything set up, he was able to lead the discussion of the Sabbath School lesson.

Church service was the last presentation of Pastor Andre's Revelation series, "Home at Last!", but before that was shared, we were blessed to share in a baptism....Luann has chosen to join our church family and commit her life to Jesus, her Savior. Her family came share in her joy, and special music was provided by a men's group, Revive Us. The many guests who came to share our Sabbath gave us an opportunity to share our Sabbath blessings.

After the blessings of worship and praise, we joined together for a potluck meal. Thank you to Irma & Gloria, and the deaconesses as they coordinated that process under deconstruction and disorder in the kitchen/Fellowship Hall area. They did a great job of coordinating all the logistics, and the food, as always, was superb. Before they left our fellowship, 'Revive Us' sang us a farewell song .

Thank You, Father, for a Sabbath day full of rich blessings, in spite of Satan's attempts to distract and misdirect our thoughts and praises.
