Sabbath, March 21 is part of our church history...and what a day it was! The devil was busy, but the Lord prevailed with His grace and mercy, according to HIS plan to bless our church family and many guests who were in attendance.
It began with hurried phone calls, alerting the church family to an accident which had happened, blocking the one entry road into town--the road on which both of our adult Sabbath School teachers, musicians and other members all journeyed to church. Our family members were stuck in the traffic jam created by the wreck, many emergency vehicles and one-way bridges!
Jeanie and Dan quickly led out in some pre-Sabbath School congregational singing, while Pastor Andre began preparing a impromptu general class discussion. Somewhere in the 2nd hymn, Darrell arrived and, after getting everything set up, he was able to lead the discussion of the Sabbath School lesson.
Church service was the last presentation of Pastor Andre's Revelation series, "Home at Last!", but before that was shared, we were blessed to share in a baptism....Luann has chosen to join our church family and commit her life to Jesus, her Savior. Her family came share in her joy, and special music was provided by a men's group, Revive Us. The many guests who came to share our Sabbath gave us an opportunity to share our Sabbath blessings.
After the blessings of worship and praise, we joined together for a potluck meal. Thank you to Irma & Gloria, and the deaconesses as they coordinated that process under deconstruction and disorder in the kitchen/Fellowship Hall area. They did a great job of coordinating all the logistics, and the food, as always, was superb. Before they left our fellowship, 'Revive Us' sang us a farewell song .
Thank You, Father, for a Sabbath day full of rich blessings, in spite of Satan's attempts to distract and misdirect our thoughts and praises.
