Hub City Church

Hub City Church Jesus. Restore. Albany. This is our vision and our values. A mere shadow of what she once was, Albany has fallen from her former glory.

**Vision & Values**

-Jesus: Jesus is the King of all, and we long to see him recognized and worshipped as King in Albany.
-Restore: God is on a mission to restore the world to complete perfection, and we are called to partner with him in this work.
-Albany: Albany is a wonderful city, full of beauty, brokenness, and potential, and we long to see Albany become the greatest city it can possibly be.

It is also our prayer.

**History & Hope**

In the mid 1800s, shortly after being established in one of the world’s most fertile valleys, Albany quickly became a booming center of culture and commerce. Strategically located on the Willamette River, all major trade routes seemed to pass through this growing town whether railroads, steam boats, or horse-drawn carriages; Albany became the center of activity on the West Coast from Seattle to Sacramento. Because of its prosperity and influence, the vibrant city was known for many years as “Hub City.”

Today, a lot has changed. Recently making national headlines as one of our nation’s capitols for methamphetamine production and distribution, Albany is broken and hurting, in desperate need of restoration. Yet, Albany is still a beautiful city, full of potential for God’s Kingdom to move. While many people in Albany have lost hope, God has not given up on this city and neither will we. We believe that God wants to bring new life to Albany, restoring it once again as a center of influence and hope through a powerful movement of the Gospel. Jesus is the only hope for Albany, and He has called us to partner with him in the kingdom-work that this city so desperately needs. We are fulfilling our calling by planting a church to make disciples and transform communities. We believe that through Jesus, we can once again see Albany become a “Hub City,” from which the good news of the Gospel goes forth, bringing blessing to our city, region, and the world partner with Jesus and his Global Church in God’s great mission. I’m excited to introduce you to a new work of the Gospel: Hub City Church, joining Jesus in his mission to Restore all things in Albany, Oregon.

Join us this Sunday, December 19th, either in person or online. Matt will be walking us through Luke's gospel account of Jesus' birth.
We also will be taking our annual Joy Offering. This year 100% of what's received will go to our ministry partners Andando and Everychild. You can give in person or online. We will keep online giving open until December 25th. While we always love it when we are able to give enough to fully fund the projects. We believe the ultimate goal is for us to experience the joy of worshipful sacrificial giving, that others would be blessed, and that God would be glorified. So while some of you will give a lot, some will give a little, and some may not be able to give at all this year, as a community we simply want to give and bless others. And we trust God to move through this opportunity

Hub City, you only live once, but you've truly not lived until you've seen the Downtown Twice Around Christmas Parade & Community Tree Lighting Ceremony. Fortunately for all of us, that's happening tonight at 5pm. After grabbing a warm and tasty beverage at our favorite local coffee shop, , we'll meet in front of our new office space at 127 Broadalbin Street. We hope to see you all down there tonight!

Dear Hub City,
We hope this finds you safe and healthy. We wanted to make you aware of our plan moving ahead and our response to the recent recommendations from the Governor's office and OHA. After two staff people were exposed and infected with COVID 19 we decided to reduce the risk by not gathering last Sunday, August 8th. At this point, both staff members are through their quarantine period and recovering. They are no longer symptomatic and pose no threat of exposure. So to that end, our plan is to resume our Sunday gatherings as soon as this Sunday, August 15. With that plan in place, we recommend compliance with the Governor's office and OHA mandates for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people, which is to return to face masks for indoor gatherings.
While we know this is frustrating and less than ideal, we want to continue to be a non anxious presence to our city, and be loving neighbors. One of the ways we can do this is by setting aside our own preferences and desires and selflessly caring for our city by helping to reduce the spread of this virus.
We hope to see you this Sunday as we worship our good and loving King and Savior Jesus.

Hello Hub City!

In response to the CDCs recent recommendation of "no masks required for anyone fully vaccinated" plus Oregon Governor Kate Brown’s announcement video (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuPgzXHs6M8&feature=youtu.be), our elders and staff feel comfortable adhering to these new guidelines and will be implementing them at our Sunday morning services. Please use good judgment if it is appropriate for you to continue wearing a face covering or not and per the guidelines, if you are not fully vaccinated we would ask that you continue to wear a face covering.

We desire to be a church that is good news to our city and supportive of the diversity of needs within our community. Thank you for your flexibility and respectfulness as we’ve walked through this pandemic together.

We love you all and are excited to continue on the mission of Jesus Restore Albany

We'd love to have you join us this year for our Easter Sunday gathering. Every year we mark this special Sunday by gathering together as God's people with God's people. It is a time to remember and celebrate Jesus' victorious defeat of sin and death through his glorious resurrection.
We will be gathering in person or online. There will be two opportunities at either 9 or 11. The gathering will be family-friendly and there will be no Hub Kids that day. Masks are required and social distance will be maintained. If you choose to stay home both services will be live-streamed and you can watch via our youtube channel.

Join us this Sunday for our weekly gathering. Matt will be preaching through the last 6 verses of chapter 15 of Exodus. Where we are quickly reminded that it doesn’t take long to forget all the blessings that God has poured out on his people - both on the Israelites and us today. We forget and are going to continue to forget, yet Jesus still says, “I paid for that.”
Join us in person on or line.
